I can binge if I am on a very low calorie diet, but I can binge when stressed, have pmt, and tired. i am usually bad in the mornings. i also bineg on foods that aren't my favourites (i.e. I love dark chocolate and mint ice cream but only binge on bread, cereals cakes biscuits

A little while ago I had to fast in the morning and I ate lunch at normal time and I felt great, I didn't overeat all day.

So has fasting made things worse or better for you?

That's a good question. Speaking personally, it's certainly helped me.

But you'd get far more answers if you were to ask that question on the main thread. Come and join us, you'd be made very welcome.

Fasting stopped my weekly 5000-cal chocolate frenzies on cheesecake, cookies, ice cream etc. It took a few months, but suddenly I didn't Junk Frenzy any more.

Hi!

Ah that's interesting, thanks for replying. Were you guys emotional eaters too?

I just love food and I think not eating when I had to fast for the morning, allowed me to concentrate on other things...

I'm glad to hear you have done (amazingly) well on the fasting diet :-)

No, emotional reasons were never a factor for me, just sheer enjoyment of eating junk !
I boomeranged into junk frenzies after several years low carbing.
I've always been sporty, so never overweight, but all that sugar had to be unhealthy for me.

I'm a binge eater, currently on the waiting list for counselling. Fasting hits the reset button for me and allows me to break the cycle. It's the only way I can lose weight over time because in only one binge session I consume more calories than I've saved by being on normal diets for a whole week.
