I'm marrying DP next year and I don't want to look like a walrus!! I've got an ocado shop coming tomorrow full of stuff for this diet.

I really am a bit rubbish with this kind of thing and would love a diet pal? pleeeeeease

Dinner was a salmon fillet with cracked black pepper, 12 roasted cherry toms and a huge pile of mixed salad leaves - 254 cals smile

so......I have 87 cals to "spend" - I want chocolate and am craving something sweet - any ideas what 87 cals will buy me? hmm

Whojamaflip Thu 18-Jul-13 19:20:54

Don't have any low cal drinking choc either sad

BeckyBrandon Thu 18-Jul-13 19:46:55

That sounds yummy Whoja.

hmmm 87 cals, maybe an ice lolly? Jelly? A biscuit?

My go to sweet things at the mo is the hot chocolate, Sugar free jelly or a muller light. I've put some weight watchers biscuits on for next week but thinking I might take them off because I'll be tempted to eat the lot blush

Whojamaflip Thu 18-Jul-13 20:18:10

You star!

Just pinched one of the dcs jelly pots - 80 cals grin who'd of thought?

so so so looking forward to eating anything I want tomorrow.

formicadinosaur Thu 18-Jul-13 20:54:35

How have you gals found it so far? And what's your TDEE?

I fluffed up the first couple of fasts but my third attempt has been the best so far. I really didn't feel that hungry on the fast day. Weird!!

Weigh in - 137 a week ago to 133 today. But that was this morning after yesterdays fast. Would love to be 128 on the nose - had believed it to be impossible for me.

My fitness pal has been quite a revelation. It's made me reflect on the amount I must have been eating before. I had also started to notice how much more I ate then friends. I think I will use my fitness pal to help me reach the correct weight/realign my eating habits but after my target i wont use it.

A tbsp of Homous is 30 cals according to fitness pal by the way. Tried hartley's sugar free jelly today which was a first. Had to fight my boys for it mind. Was thinking prawns would be a great fast day course.

formicadinosaur Thu 18-Jul-13 20:56:09

The hartley's sugar free jelly is 10 cals by way. Although I usually avoid sweeteners so am not completely convinced.

delilahmoo Thu 18-Jul-13 20:57:06

I'll join! Just finished 5th fast in two weeks. I'm doing Tue and Thur. aiming to loose a stone. I have been eating a low cal yoghurt at 11.30, then approx. 300 cals for dinner at 6, tea with skimmed milk and water and a cheeky diet coke during the day. It bothers me that the scales fluctuate so much during the week, I need to stop weighing all the time a just pick a day and stick to it! Hope all that fasted today went well. Already looking forward to toast in the morning!

Whojamaflip Thu 18-Jul-13 22:45:49

Feeling really proud of ,myself today - first fast and ended on 493 cals!

hope I can sleep tho - starting to get a little peckish - roll on breakfast!

tempted to weigh myself but am going to stay strong and avoid the scales for at least a week grin

well done to everyone who fasted today and good luck to those going for it tomorrow.

formicadinosaur Thu 18-Jul-13 22:52:52

Well done guys. I'm hoping to fast tomorrow. Anyone else?

Barbie1 Fri 19-Jul-13 01:05:10

I'm fasting today...

For those of you getting disheartened about the lack of weight loss please bare with it. It took at least three weeks and 6 fast for the scales to move (other than up and and down the same few lb's)

Once it started moving it did so pretty quickly.

I am waiting for all our stuff to arrive here, I only have 8 suitcases worth of stuff. I have no scales so can't weigh for at least another few weeks, I doubt very much I could work nor understand a korean set of scales!

Barbie1 Fri 19-Jul-13 01:06:30

Oh and mars ice cream is pretty low in cals considering how yummy they are wink

BeckyBrandon Fri 19-Jul-13 09:05:30

Well done whoja! Proud of you!!

Yep I'm fasting today. I'm bypassing breakfast and saving my cals for lunch and dinner. Having low fat mozzarella and tomato salad with a slice of parma ham. For dinner I'm having chicken and veg with a teaspoon of bbq sauce. All the remaining calls will go on coffee grin

What's everyone else having? smile

formicadinosaur Fri 19-Jul-13 20:55:45

Becky I must have mozzarella, ham and tomato next fast. Sounds scrummy.

Barbie what are you hoping to be by the time you can weigh yourself? Don't really have a short term goal at the moment but am interested to see how slowly/quickly things shift.

BeckyBrandon Fri 19-Jul-13 21:10:15

I went over today as well ormicadinosaur, by almost 100 cals. I'm dissapointed because I literally JUST did it. Moment of weakness. Oh well. 600 cals isn't too bad is it.

Next fast day will be sunday. Are you doing it then as well?

Barbie1 Fri 19-Jul-13 22:06:32

I'm hoping to get to 8 and a half stone which is my target. However I used to exercise a lot, and I haven't been so I know my progress will be slower.

I did lose about 3kg in a month once the weight started to shift.

I haven't got that much to lose so its going to be slower now anyway.

becky 600 cals in nothing, so don't beat yourself up. Most people on the 5:2 thread gradually reduced the calories intake until they got to 500 cals.

I have to start training next week, even though is so very hot and humid I will force myself down into the gym and cross train and strength train. I will also do 4:3 for the next few weeks.

I just hope the scales don't go up when they finally arrive, oh how I miss my stuff!

Bluecatfabric Fri 19-Jul-13 22:07:16

Well done everyone that has fasted. I am going to try missing breakfast as I find that easy and save most until evening so I can sleep. Doing Monday and Wed next week.

formicadinosaur Fri 19-Jul-13 22:29:41

Possibly Monday Becky and blue cat. Sunday we are with lunching with friends and i expect there will lots if lovely food about. 600 is only a bit over isn't it. Just reading he book now and it talks about distracting yourself. I had a quiet day at home today but maybe I should fast on busier days?

Interesting to hear about fitness Barbie. I'm jogging about 3 miles at the moment but need to get back to my usual 6. Then some more.

formicadinosaur Sat 20-Jul-13 11:25:33

Managed to watch the eat fast and live longer documentary this morn and its motivating

BeckyBrandon Sat 20-Jul-13 13:51:46

Morning smile

Thanks barbie smile

I had a light frappuchino from starbucks today. Was only 110cals, and it tasted like a normal one. Was a nice treat.

Good luck to anyone fasting today smile

Whojamaflip Mon 22-Jul-13 12:58:58

Second fast today and I really don't want to confused

anyway so far I have had a leek and potato cuppa soup (116 cals) and 3 slices of ham (33cals)

supper will prob be salad and salmon.

Anyone else fasting today?

BeckyBrandon Mon 22-Jul-13 14:08:35

I'm going to fast tomorrow, because I will be working and after work will still be busy, so hopefully that will help.

I got some miso soup today so will take that to work in case I get peckish.

Fasting is no fun, you're doing well whoja, Keep going!

Can I ask the amount of calories people have on NFD? Or is that rude? blush

Bluecatfabric Mon 22-Jul-13 14:45:41

I don't know how much I eat on NFD as I have never calorie counted but for the next week I am going to stick to 2000. First FD today and had a boiled egg and cucumber for lunch. Going to have chicken breast and broccoli for dinner. I am ok for now. Who else is today and how are you doing?

BeckyBrandon Mon 22-Jul-13 15:21:38

I've been way under my TDEE on NFD and now I think I've done it allllllllll wrong. I might go and ask them on the bigger thread <wimpy>

foofooyeah Mon 22-Jul-13 16:10:42

Hi there, I started last week and managed the 2 fast days. I am on my third fast day today and its actually been pretty easy. Always do it on days I am at work as less temptation then and too busy to worry. Have only just thought about food and its gone 4 oclock,

Need to rein back a bit more on the non fast days though
