Fasting / 5:2 diet

My first real go

I did a fast day last week, just to see how I coped and felt about it all. I was fine, so I suppose I've already started, but had in mind that I would start proper today.

I'm bloody starving!!! Why is that?? Totally in the mind I know!

Today's food will be

Breakfast - apples and strawberries, 58 cal.
Lunch - golden veg soup and two crackers, 153 cal.
Dinner - Bean and sausage stew, 284 cal.
Total 495

Hello! Good luck. It is my first day too.... Going ok so far. Though I have been obsessively thinking about food all day.

Had porridge made with water and stewed apple for breakfast, so about 200 cals I think. Then a boiled egg and 5 asparagus spears for lunch - 80 cals. Oh and a coconut water after my circuits class, so that's 60. So I have 160 left for dinner and going to make that tomato and garlic soup I saw on another thread and have it with 1 ryvita.

Did you make the golden veg soup yourself?

I have also had about 4 cups of earl grey with no milk. Shall we spur each other on?

thiswayforcrazy apples and strawberries are probably a bit high in sugar for breakfast, they will make you hungry half an hour later. It would be better to skip breakfast altogether, but if you do need something try oats or eggs.

pollyindia yes it is home made. I have added the recipe to the recipe thread, but PM me if you can't find it. It's really lovely.

frenchfancy I did wonder if I had made a mistake on that one. I would have had porridge, but had taken the soup and stew out, so didn't have enough calories. And I was going to not have breakfast but an early-ish lunch instead. However the DC's wanted a snack, so there you go I ended up having some too...I think I need to plan better.

But I am at the end of the day. I came in at 503. Will be an early night I think, as the evenings tend to be when when I want to snack, snack snack!

I will check it out. I am now on my second day fasting, though doing 2 pm today to 7pm tomorrow as I have people over for dinner tomorrow night and don't have another day I can do. I feel much hungrier tonight than I did last night, though I have only had 5 cherry tomatoes and a couple of bits of the pasta I made for my baby's tea. I have saved my calories to have breakfast tomorrow and some soup for lunch.
