I'm 28 and fed up of the pill. I can't take the combined pill (which worked well for me in all other ways) because I got migraines with aura which is a stroke risk. The mini pill has given me weight gain, depression, periods have not stopped, are irregular and last for two weeks when they do come, random spotting, etc.
It seems that if I don't want to take mood altering medication for the next 25 years my only option might be the coil. But I've heard that this can be just as bad and gives you back your natural periods but twice as heavy and twice as painful. Has anybody any experiences they can share?
Or is there anything else I'm missing? If I switched to another mini pill, is there any chance at all it might be different? I'm on cerelle/cerazatte currently.
Am I right in thinking that the implant/injection is just the same hormones as the pill but in a different/longer-lasting form?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
