Possible TMI alert!

I'm having my second Mirena fitted tomorrow, I think they're brilliant, had one before my two DCs.

But I think that my period is about to start - main reason for putting it in this time is due to fibroids and heavy periods. My last was inserted under general anaesthetic as I had some other procedures done. Will day 1 of a really heavy period be a nightmare for all concerned? I'm not looking forward to it anyway but would appreciate any constructive advice.
