cramps, 9 days late and I use the coil

I have been on the copper coil for 4 years and my periods are like clock work. I am now 9 days late and I have had mild pain/ cramp for days.

I am not pregnant as I tested this morning and it was negative. I also don't feel pregnant. But I also don't have my usual before period symptoms apart from slight cramps.

I rang my doctor but she said I had nothing to worry about as my test was negative at home.

Has anyone else suddenly become late using the copper coil?
