See there is a part of me that would rather help than him using other materials (IYGWIM) but seeing as we're lucky if we manage twice a week it will be taking us some time!

I think he has to hand his samples over to the receptionist in person, I am not sure what is worse . .

TWICE A DAY!! I barely have the energy to go to the loo twice a day! We also have 3 kids and have had many accidental pregnancies too (along with MOP) so this is rather belt and braces rather than we're at it a lot

I am seriously in awe . .

DH sent me out to the local sport shop for an "athletic support" after his. The young chap who served me took great delight in shouting to the other end of the shop "Oi Dave, can you get the lady a jock strap please mate". BlushBlushBlush

DH was in more pain than any mad had been in the history of the universe apparently. and got absolutely no sympathy

man…though he was a little mad too.

I thought my DH was in the most pain ever!! He made sure he had a supply of by tight pants for the days following and stairs/doorsteps were an immediate issue without pain relief. I think he peed fine, it was just getting to the loo in the first place that became a problem (steep stairs).
Sounds icky but watch out for any strange smell from that area. He got an infection about 5 days afterwards and it really stank.

he'll be swollen and sore for a few days - DH didn't really move for about 2 days, but after that was fairly OK, apparently it was more comfortable when the toddler didn't jump on his lap Shock

apparently supportive underwear did help and he only needed panadol

Mine was not in pain, but ignored the advice to not play sport for a week or so and played cricket 1 or 2 days later.

As a result, he looked like this.

For most men it's straightforward, and localised swelling/soreness settles in a few days with only OTC painkillers if required.

If there are complications, all bets are off.

Tight pants really helps (according to DH).

Lol - keep em coming - am at work furtively checking thread - you are really cheering me up (although making me nervous that he has not taken the support issue seriously enough!)

Really right pants, as in 2 sizes smaller than normal are what my DP was recommended. His weren't tight enough and he suffered. He got a blood clot. I'm sure he's fine now but I haven't had the energy to ask recently...

Some men are really horny post op (extra blood in the area?) but it might be better if first try out is a wank (so he is in total control of the timing).

After that, it's a mixture of both time elapsed and number of ejaculations until the all clear. Don't abandon other contraception until the all clear - about half the 'fail' rate is in the first 6 months and attributed to the tubing not being properly clear.

Arnica tablets all the way - you can get them from the chemist and they really help with bruised/swollen bits Smile.

DH took Tramadol for the first day but was fine on Ibuprofen after that, the actual pain only lasted a day or two but he was uncomfortable for a couple of weeks. He managed to go on his work Christmas do and get hammered fine 4 days afterwards. Took him weeks to stop feeling his balls though, I swear he thought one of them was going to drop off! The day the stitch dissolved and the small 'knot' on the outside dropped off into his hand was quite funny. I think he thought he was leaking..

I drove home from mine, and was the only one of 12 to have a local. It was a bit sore for a couple of days, but supportive pants helped. It did feel weird for a while.
