violin teacher for 5 yr old Doncaster

I know this is a very long shot but we have bought a violin for our 5 year old for her birthday (against all common sense - DD1 plays clarinet, DS plays guitar and percussion and mum plays piano and played cello for a while when at school so wanted something with a mellow sound !)We will need a teacher in the Doncaster area who is willing to take on a youngster - can anyone recommend someone ? There is a string teacher at school but think I might be told to go away for 2 years and try again but she is adamant that is the instrument she wants to play and seeing older siblings and mum playing regularly it's no surprise she wants to play something.

I am in a similar position.I have a 5yo DD who longs to learn the violin, but need to find a teacher.I am in the Harrogate area.I plan to start by asking in the local music shops.

Hi I realise its a long time since you posted and hopefully you will be set up by now.
The best place to start would be the county music service i would think would be the county music service.Just give Doncaster council a ring and ask them.
Otherwise music shops will have a list of strings teachers and may be able to advise on which specialise in teaching young children, otherwise just work through the list!

Thanks, I have now found a teacher via the music shop and my little one is enjoying her lessons but progress is going to be slow !
