My 5 year old has done a LOT of intensive swimming lessons this Summer and has amazingly achieved her 5m 10m and 20m certificates as well as ASA 4. I was doing the happy dance until I realised that I was supposed to do something with all those badges. What do you do? Heeeelp

Sew them on her towel? After sending them in to school for an awards assembly. Well done to your DD!

Thanks Snuffy. OK Now for the REALLY stupid question. DO you still use the towel - or is it simply for displaying the badges AND if you do use it can you still throw it in the machine?

Sorry - dense Mummy moment

We used to sew them on our swimsuits, but that was a bit thick cos you had to take them off every time you got a new swimsuit and sew them on the new one!!!

Yes, you still use the towel, and you can wash it in the machine

I get my mum to sew them on their swimming towels!

We also bought display books from WHS and put the certificates in, along with all certificates they ever get. They love looking through these folders at all their milestones and achievements.

They gather dust on a shelf and then they get lost.

That's what you do with them

Can't you buy her a cloth swimming bag and sew the badges on that instead?

I'm with roisin dd has a swim towel with all her badges. Got it when she got her ASA 1 and her 10 metres. She's now has up to ASA 8 and her upto 400 meters so lots of badges. Yes we use the towel and the badges wash. Plus the towel is her pride and joy. I aslo have a cheap display folder from tesco for the certificates.
Or the other thing is to get an ASA awards file, you find they sell them at your local pool. Don't know what their like but the local pool sell them and they looked quite good with spaces for the badges and certificates.
