What can dd do to improve her posture?

My middle dd is 13 and I have noticed recently her posture isn't good. She's hunched over, rounded back and shoulders forward and tense looking. When she's sitting down I encourage her to sit properly in the chair which she does when she's eating but if she's on her phone etc, she swings round so her legs are to the side of the air and she looks very hunched.

I'm worried it's going to cause problems later, so are there any activities she can do which will help? I've thought maybe yoga or pilates? She used to do ballet which she dropped a few years ago but might be willing to start it again.

She also has pronating ankles and wears orthotics. Is there anything that will help strengthen her ankles?

My daughter started doing pilates with me during gcse year. She found it destressing and enjoyable. It was good for her confidence and she liked it as being "grown up".Her posture improved as well.

She still does pilates and yoga at 23.

I started hunching my shoulders around that age - trying to make my chest look less obvious, I never got out of it and it does cause me problems now. I expect that yoga, pilates or ballet would be the best things to help, just wish I had done them.

Martial arts are great for posture, but not sure if that's something that your DD would consider...

Pilates & ballet will both help.

Dd has hypermobile ankles & pronates & does something like 72 releves at the barre each day.

I have terrible posture as a result of trying to hide my boobs at that age. Pilates and yoga would be great
