Swimming jammers for boys (sorry, dull)

Does anyone have boys who swim in the Speedo endurance jammers? Do the waist sizes go up a lot when you buy the next size up?

DS swims in age 8 endurance jammers, but they are getting too short. Will the next size fall down? He swims in Arena size 22 (men's) to give an idea!

I'm reluctant to order another 3 pairs for training to find they are massive! Thanks for any help.

Not very much experience but I only realised recently that Ds has been wearing one pair of age 10 and one pair of age 12 for about a year. I hadn't realised they were different and he's never mentioned it so I'm assuming there isn't a huge jump.

They are fine and have a strong string at the waist. DS has the and I bought a batch of sizes when the local sports shop shut down. He managed to grab a pair two sizes too big one day and managed to dive without displaying his modesty.

Super, thanks everyone. I'll order the next size up. I can't buy them in a shop near where we live, so have to buy online.
