What do you do with your dc's swimming badges?

So proud! DS1, aged 5, has just received his 5 metre swimming badge. I don't think it will be long before he achieves more as he swam 20metres when at the pool with us last week. So, what do you do with your childrens badges? Do you keep them in a box with other certificates? Or do you sew them onto something? I'm thinking of doing the latter, but wondering what to sew them on (a towel, or a bag maybe?)

DS has a large hooded towel thing from la redoute its not a poncho more a smock (is that a thing?!) anyway he had it when he was 5 and still fits now he is 7 he takes it to swimming lessons as it doesn't drag on the floor when he is getting dried line a normal towel. Anyway my point is we sew them on there

Yes, we got the boys a large, good quality towel and sewed them on there. ds1 is 17 and still has his towel with his swimming badges on and it's still in relatively good condition.

I sew their badges onto their swim bags, the swim bags are only used for swimming so hopefully will last quite well (or eventually become held together by the badges :) )

With 3 kids swimming, doing other graded sports activities, and in Scouting and Guiding, plus dh's badge-earning sctivities, we are overwhelmed with badges.

Towels wear out, as do swim bags. They want to keep their old Beavers/Cubs/Brownies badges as they move on to the next level. Plus all the other badges!

So I sew all badges onto a big old wool blanket. Everyone in the family has a section, and all their badges are grouped together. It's turning into a lovely, colourful memento.

Originally sewed them onto the swimming towels, but they got transferred to Brownie/Guide camp blanket when the girls stopped swimming lessons and started Brownies

The latest on went on their trunks / costume, all previous ones went on their swimming towels, which they still use now, some 10 years on, as teens.

We used to use 'The ASA Awards File'. Its a clear folder which holds the certificates and badges! Love it. Both dc's had one each when younger.

Swim bag too here. It only gets used twice a week for swimming so I figure it should last a while.

Towels here, but they are getting tatty several years down the line. I have started a blanket each for their badges from Beavers, Cubs and Rainbows, now they are in Scouts and Brownies, so they will get moved onto those at some point. I'm also buying cloth badges to add from our holidays.

Thank you. It's a lot of sewing though, I haven't started properly yet, bought the blankets and have got all the badges removed from uniforms, I'm going to safety pin them into position and try and do a few at a time.

I cheat WhoKnows and do a very neat zig zag stitch in an appropriate colour for any badges that need sewing on!

Swimming towels here too. Only just sewn them on a couple of months ago as they've been using the towels for 2 years and still good as new so figured they will last.
I think it will be nice for when they go swimming with school and can show off their badges to their friends.

Swimming towel, my own dd started with the 10 metre badge and asa stage 1 badge. Now age 13 and has 30 badges, 1 mile been the longest distance.
Still swims and averages over 80 25 lenghts in her hour lesson each week.
Her towel is now a treasured and not used that much, she does have another 3 towel now as she started competitive swimming but didn't stick with it.
Agree with the last posting that swimming with school showing friends and teachers your towel goes down very well. Dd made great friends with a new child to the school as they both discovered their passion for swimming.
