Think I've sewn the brownie badges on the wrong thing

You would have thought with dd3 I would know what I'm doing by now!

Going from memory when my older two were at brownies, I thought you sewed all the badges on the sash and then use the gilet when the sash is full. So I've sewn her six badge, county badge, pack name tape and Friend to Animals badge on her sash.

But firstly I've just noticed lots of the other girls seem to have all the badges on their gilet. And secondly because of the stupid design of the new sash, dd finds is quite uncomfortable to wear and I don't imagine she will wear it most of the time.

Should I change them to the gilet? Not sure I can be bothered to unpick them and start again!

Oh gosh - can't help on that one as the Brownie pack my DD is in don't wear sashes. Maybe check with 'Brown Owl' (or whoever) to see if it's okay to leave them as is.

Just checked with Brown Owl, she said anything goes really but apparently the sash is being phased out.

I know it's just going to annoy me if I don't change them over to the gilet, grrrr! Bother, why didn't I check before??

Yes, anything goes. Sashes aren't compulsory, but easy to keep and use as DD gets bigger and needs new uniform.

I sewed my DDs whole sash onto her camp blanket when she went to Guides.

My girls sew them wherever they wish. I don't mind where they go x

I don't mind where they go either, as long as they don't lose them and ask me for a replacement.

Stitch the bottom of the sash together, it will make life so much easier! That weave design is daft.

It is anything goes, but she won't outgrow a sash, and when it comes to camp blankets you can just see the whole thing on in one go if you want!

Thanks. Brown Owl gave her a badge to pin the ends together.

I compromised in the end by leaving her six, county and pack name tape on the sash and put the badges she's earnt on the gilet.

I bought the guides fleece blanket and sewed all the badges on that. It looks amazing and is something she can keep forever with all her badges on.
