What does your 5yo do?

We are about to try HE, so want dd to do some more 'after school' activities, and of course anything in the day is possible too.

She currently does Rainbows and fancies dancing. She does group keyboard lessons at school, and I teach her a bit at home, but is she too little for 'proper' lessons with no special talent?

Not IMO. My 5 year old does loads of things (probably too many). But he enjoys them although has no special talent. Personally I think if you have no special talent it is better to try a lot of different things in the hope you find somethings you really enjoy. Mine does football, choir, science, streetdance and swimming.

My dd at that age did swimming lessons and rainbows each week. She recently turned 7 and does French class too and wants to do either dance or gymnastics too! I think she is doing enough with swimming, French and brownies. What does your child enjoy?

DS does swimming and football. I think at 5 2 activities a week as well as school is enough.

DD does artistic gymnastics and fun club as after school activities (fun club is baking/crafting/treasure hunting) and recorder lessons in school time. She also does ballet once a week outside of school.

Swimming, athletics, gymnastics. She used to do basketball but swapped it for athletics.

Dd1 did no after school stuff until she was 7 though. She was tired after school but dd1 isn't.

Mine does Tap, Ballet, Rainbows, Karate and swimming (ooh that sounds a lot).

She started swimming at 6m but the other activities didn't start until she'd turned 5. She started ballet and rainbows first but tap and karate didn't start until this term now she's started Y1.

DS3 does football after school on one day and has piano lessons. He's due to start beavers when he is 6

My DD (year 1) does:

Gymnastics (twice a week as she is in a development squad), ballet and tap, swimming and Irish dancing.

I'm currently trying to convince her to drop the ballet /tap though.

Ds is 5, just gone into year one. Last term he did Sunday school (occasionally), gymlastics, swimming and tennis (occasionally). This year he has also joined the school football team and has just started karate. Appreciate it sounds a lot but ds is very lively and enjoys all his activities, other kids are tired after school and just need to relax at home.
