This is costing us a fortune & will only increase; so how do you save money?

We are:
Booking as far ahead as possible to get deals on hotels/B&B
Travelling by train if possible (we have discount tickets)
Buy small pots of add hot water porridge to save paying for breakfast
Take packed lunch/tea/snacks from home
Take things to do/read from home

Anyone else?

Can you share with another family? Either accommodation or driving/ petrol costs. Not sure what the activity is, or how old the child is, but do you need to go with them every time? Can you team up with another child/parent and take turns?

That would be good & I have suggested it (both 14) so it might work; each taking the others child

tbh we would take the other child each time for nothing (well just their meals) as it makes DD behave better Wink

DH wants to go, DD needs me so we both go; the plan originally was for DH to take her......but it never really worked

Do you make your own dresses, Katy?

We don't dance now, but I had my girls dresses made and then put the stones on myself - buying in bulk via eBay. Takes hours but saves ££.

And our dance school had dress sales where you could sell your dresses and accessories - good for making money and a chance to swop to different hair things etc.

yes, with varying levels of success..........stoning is easy but time consuming

Our school doesn't have anything like that (yet)
