help me run in the morning

i just hate it i mean really!!! but unfortunatly due to dc's and dh's work comitments im going to have to (am very sulky right now) any tips? getting up is fine has to be 6 befor dh goes to work this gives me an hour outside. it just seems so much harder. i can comfortably run 10K but this morning i struggled to do 5!

Are you having anything to eat before you go out? I have to get up half an hour earlier before I run and have a banana and a slice of toast and some water, otherwise I find I have no energy.

Keep at it - it will come. I used to struggle with running in the morning but it's now my favourite part of the day to run. I can't just get up and run though - I have to potter around the house for 10 or 15 mins first to get myself out of sleep mode. If I'm really not in the mood I listen to a couple of minutes of music I love to get me fired up. Take an mp3 player and tell yourself that it's a bit of me time.

I absolutely have to have a cup of tea and a bowl of weetabix before I can get going. Do you eat? Also a lot of water before going to bed...

what a thermobol? i dont like eating early as it is but i can see im going to have to arnt i? i also like to get up and get out asap with as little noise as pos so i dont wake dc's this is probably my own paranoya and wont actually happen. how soon could i run after a bannana and small coffe would 10 minutes be enough? i do make sure to drink alot befor bed and i always take a pint of water to bed aswell. thanks for the advice

I don't like eating early, or eating before a run so I take Maximuscle Thermobol tablets. You're meant to take 3 a day for weight loss but I just take one first thing in the morning before I exercise and the difference in the workout I get is amazing. They're just a combination of things like caffeine and green tea so a coffee would have much the same effect.

Lots of top athletes, boxers etc. train on an empty stomach with just a coffee inside them. It's also believed to boost your metabolism. HTH.

Sometimes I run to work on nothing more than a cup of coffee. The first 15 - 20 minutes is just awful and there is nothing that can be done about it. After that it's fine and for the rest of the morning I feel fab. I attempt positive mental attitude for the nasty bit at the start, and sometimes this works . At the very least acknowledging that the first part is always bad seems to help.

I try to have a couple of dried apricots before I go too, but TBH cannot say this makes much difference.
