I find my most convenient time is 1st thing, 7.30am before kids are up but I run on an empty stomach so not sure if this is ideal. Eves aren't good for me timing-wise and OH has u predictable hours.

Anyone else have a good routine for training?

I think first thing is best, so I have read.

Do you think that energy levels might be too low 1st thing CYB? I get a stitch easily and feel sluggish if I run after a meal plus I think I digest food v slowly.

i find first thing is best, gives me a good start to the day, although by 3pm i am a bit knackered..
if i go in the eve when my DH comes home then i will eat afterwards even if its after 8pm

but I think it gives your metabolism a shake up and you burn stuff better during the day? I might be talking out of the top of my head of course.....

Run when you can it probably makes no big difference unless you are training like paula Radcliffe

running at the 'wrong' time is deffo better than not at all

I struggle in the evenings - I'm much better in the morning. I usually get up, have two cups of tea and a banana, run, then have a bowl of cereal when I get in. I don't do really early though; it's usually around 9ish

I find I'm no good at exercise until I've been up for at least 1½ hours. I'm sluggish and only put in a half hearted effort and give up too easily.

Defintely early mornings - I have a small bowl of cereal or a banana and leave it about 30 minutes before running. Running on an empty stomach makes me feel nauseous and probably isn't very good for you I wouldn't have thought. Bananas v good for eating pre-run as they are really quickly digested (unless v green!).

Evening runs are sometimes OK but I think there are a lot of variables depending on the day you've had - what you've eaten, what you've done, how much you've drunk. Mornings just more consistent.

i usually have a bit of fruit, dried or fresh, if i haven't got enough left of a meal in me before a run.

i like to run about an hour after getting up but have to do evenings during the week. today it was mid-afternoon and was slow and hard work.

I like mid afternoon best. Although that's probably because thats the only time I might get away from the dc's if they are out on a play date.

Its whatever suits you best. . in order to keep it up. Your body will tell you . I am a fitness trainer and i find i am better in the afternoon. Am bit sluggish first thing.
My advice is go at a speed you enjoy and dont hate.
I pod is great to motivate you. Set yourself a target of time/distance and days of week and stick to it . . . habit forming is good, to keep going.

Another one who can't get going first thing here. I love late night running, eliminates any evening munchies and I love letting my mind wander and having a good review of the days events!

Agree with others that first thing is best and on an empty stomach. Burn more fat, more quickly and kick start your metabolism for the day. If you struggle with energy levels first thing then have a strong black coffee 15 mins before or take a metabolism booster like Maximuscle Thermabol for example.
