Ugh, motivate me to go for a run this evening..

It's dark, it's cold and I have a sore throat.

I have my running gear on, and am waiting for OH to get home so I can go out, but it is SO tempting to just say screw it and not go Sad

I've been getting a bit tardy with my running over the last few months. I think it ties in with my depression and general state of mind. Trying to keep going but some days I just want to curl up and do nothing.

Sigh..anyone else struggling with motivation to get out there, or have some words of wisdom to share?

I didn't want to run Monday night. I felt 1000 times better when I had.

And I'm chubby and in my 40s so I get points!

I'm in my 40's too.

I just can't be arsed!

The only thing that is motivating me is giving my new Fitbit a go.

I talked myself out of running this morning and now feel blobby and miserable. Wish I'd gone. Tell yourself you're just going for five minutes, or just round the block or whatever to get yourself out of the house. Then once you're running you'll go further.

Think how much better you'll feel when you get home.

I find giving myself remission to give works. So I know I have to run for 40 minutes. I think, if it's that shit I can give up after ten. But it's never that shit so I carry in!

Thanks..I will go. It's just so hilly round here, there's no 'easy'route. Plus I'm not overly fond of running in the dark, but with small kids you have no choice really.

Meh.

..and I had to chuck out my nice cosy base-layer running top as it became BO-ingrained!

Ordered some new stuff which hasn't arrived yet. Being warm would help my mojo no end!

Go on a route where you are never too far from home, and do come back if your sore throat starts making you cough a lot. I pushed myself too hard on a run a few weeks ago and ended up in bed for 3 days... Getting going again is really hard.

Ok I went, did 6.8k which I'm pleased about, including a couple of fairly brutal hills. Throat is still sore and chest feeling a little gurgle so glad I didn't push it too far.

Thanks for the pep-talk ladies. I'm going to celebrate with a nice cold glass of Pinot! x
