Well, I'm buggered but I managed it! But how did you do today! Post a screenshot? :)

Well done! Smile

Well done you lot!

Anyone up for the same challenge on Thursday?

I'm going to try and do it again today but I highly doubt it!

Gamer chick, you were right about it being hard to back down from a challenge!

Planning at least an hour with the dog this morning and then on a Wednesday evening I go walking with a friend while our dcs are doing an activity. I usually clock around 25K.

I'm really interested in how long you're all walking for to get such high step counts. I walk around 7 miles a day and that is about 15,000 steps - often I do more, sometimes I do over 20,000 and occasionally over 25,000. The days I get over 25000 are days when I've done a 10 mile hike plus normal walking around. But that's a big time commitment. However, an hour dog walk and then a walk with a friend would seem unlikely to get me over 25000 unless I was walking for about 3 hours in the evening.

I'm not doubting your step counts, by the way, just curious, particularly as I'm small so my stride is calculated short so I do more steps per mile.

Yesterday I did a 45 min dog walk, 60 walk to and back from bootcamp, bootcamp which includes some running and a 25min dog walk in the afternoon - 22k steps - I do this twice a week.
Today I have walked further than intended with dog - he rolled in fox poo, so we had to take a detour to buy poo shampoo - so I'm at 11k, the walk with my friend this evening will be close to a 90min very fast paced walk....usually at least 10k steps. Walking around the house doing stuff usually uses up between 5-10k steps, depending on what I'm doing.
Tomorrow I will do a Dog walk and then pilates...it'll be a low step day unless I get the dog out again for another walk.
I walk to the shops, appointments when I can, I sometimes meet the kids coming home from school, apart from walking the dog everyday we walk to the pub at the weekends, do a circuits class on Saturdays and a short run on a Sunday morning.

Thanks! That is a lot of time walking. I do all the appointments, schools, walking to classes stuff too but the running and the Bootcamp will all add lots of steps too.

I was really just wondering how people managed to fit it all in!

The run is very short - maybe 5k steps and bootcamp is only about 3k - so not huge amounts

When I'm dog walking I do about 1000 steps per 10 mins. Poor dogs have got quite thin since I stopped being injured, the vet was happy with their weight before. (We have increased their food a little & they really are thin, visible waist etc).

I average 16k, Mondays are my best day usually 20-23k. On my non working days I run around after/for the DC, 2 dog walks, 2 X school runs, maybe go for a run and then also teach dog training. Also I never seem to sit down at home any more.
On working days I still do 2 dog walks, run around for the DC before and after work, walk to the station, walk around the tube connections, walk to visits for work, walk back from station, and maybe a run too. It seems the only time I sit down now is in bed

Well, I've had such a crap day today, in more ways then one. I'm currently just under 8k, chances are I'll add less than 500 before bed time (really early tonight as not feeling too good).

But decided that I'm going to try and hit 30k tomorrow! Anyone up for a new challenge? I honestly don't think I'll do it, but that's what I'm aiming for!

I have hit 30k only once, when I leafleted the parish. It wiped me out for the next day though.
I can do 15-20k most days, but 30k would be a real challenge.
Need to get more active though, as I'm off on holiday at the weekend and my cake habit is starting to show...

Statelychangers · 16/06/2016 07:32

Really pleased with my step count from yesterday - I'll really struggle to hit 20k today, different routine. Good luck everyone today in meeting your targets!
