30 day shred starts tomorrow!

Need to shift my winter flab and tone up so I'm going to do the 30 day shred starting tomorrow. I will carry on running 3 x per week as usual and I will be drinking no booze for the 30 days but otherwise eating normally. I'll weigh and measure my waist in the morning and use this thread as my diary to help me stay motivated- feel free to join in if you fancy Smile

I'll join in! I started last week and got to day 4 loving it, but then I skipped one day and it was all down hill from there...
Very motivated to finish the whole 30 days this time though!

I'll join you too if that's okay? I was going to kick start my running tomorrow but the shred really worked for me the last time I attempted it (I think I did about 16 days worth last time before my willpower gave out!)

Hi twirly and dutch 😊 I did it once before years ago (think I bailed after 23 days) and really saw a difference especially on my stomach so I think it will be good for me...I usually run three times a week but I don't think it's doing enough toning wise after a winter of feasting Blush

I need to this, I'm in. I might switch to an equivalent routine off Fitness Blender as I get bored, is that allowed?

I'm on day 17 now, I have had a couple of days off, but on those days I did a load of squats and crunches to make myself feel better for missing it!
I didn't take measurements at the beginning, but have had a rather unflattering photo taken in my underwear, so hopefully I will see some good results when I do my "after" photo.
I have combined it with healthier eating, very strict for the first week or so, but I have eased up slightly recently. I can see that my legs have slimmed a little, my cellulite on my thighs is reducing, my tummy is a bit more toned.
Downside is, I am getting a little bored, but luckily only 3 days to go until level 3 starts. I'm finding level 2 very hard still, so god knows how I'll find level 3 - I've not dared look ahead!
Good luck everyone!

Ooh I might be in. I did it for the first time in ages yesterday and was thinking I'd try to continue most days but perhaps daily os what I need to form the habit.

Lozza I also took some rather horrible pictures from the front and side so hopefully I can see some difference by the end of the 30 days!

My son is 17m so I find it really difficult to fit in anything else then a 30 min video... I'm going to focus on healthy eating as well though as I need to tone up but also lose some weight ideally!
I've got about 2 stone to loose so I hope this will kickstart my new healthy lifestyle haha

Hi people! Day one is here!

My start weight is 10st7
Waist - 29 inches
Hips - 39 inches

Ready to go for my run after the school run and DH has said he wants to shred too so planning to do that in the evenings together.

Well done on getting to 17 days Lozza - how are your knees? I seem to recall they were a bit ouch last time I did it...and what weights are you using?

Good luck getting started everyone! My knees are actually ok faux, it has more been my abs which hurt, but really haven't ached as much as I thought I would! Probably something to do with me using teeny tiny weights! I have zero upper body strength, so I just got 0.75kg weights - I even struggle with some of the moves using just these, so I'm glad I didn't start out with heavier ones. I am sure this will obviously impact upon how toned my upper half gets, but actually it is my lower half that is flabbier anyway!

Dutch, I have found it hard with a toddler also. Evening time I just want to flop on the sofa, but am having to push myself to get it done. Ideally I would like to lose about 1.5 stone, so once I have done my 30 days, I will either continue with the shred but do it 3-4 times a week, or switch to my davina 7 minute dvd, and try and do 20-30 mins 3 times a week.

Come on everyone, we can do it!

Whoopwhoop Day 1!

Weight: 11.8
Waist: 32
Hips: 34

I haven't got any weights as I'm super broke this month so really can't afford to buy any yet. I'm using my 4kg kettle bell which is not ideal but it's a good solution for now.

I can't find my weights - i might have given them to charity Confused DH has some but they are too heavy for me...am off to Lidl later to stock up on fruit and veg so might see if they have any there or at home bargains for cheap.

I am not dieting but I am going to eat properly instead of snacking all day and just eating a proper meal in the evening - i've fallen into such bad habits of living on coffee and chocolate biscuits + evening meal. Not good. Today I am having yoghurt with banana, loads of seeds and cinnamon. Lunch will be soup and seedy bread, dinner is chinese style salmon and broccoli and i'm going to get yummy fruit like mango or something for late evening TV nibbling instead of chocolate.

Love all the good intentions I have on Day 1 Grin

Well done lumpy!! I notice real improvements around day 5 or 6, stick with it! Are you doing the modified movements, or going for the harder versions? I do a mix, some of the moves I can manage the harder version, others I struggle to even do the modified ones!

Have just completed day 18, and followed it with day 2 of the 30 day squat challenge (55 squats today). Feel like I might be sick! Really want to get bum and thighs toned up though.

Bargain buy you got there faux. To think I almost bought 2kg weights, I would have been dead by end of day one! Your diet changes sound great. I have given up all the sweet goodies for lent, and once that is over am going to stick to that most of the time, with occasional choc/pud. Won't deprive myself of an Easter egg!

Day 2
Not too achy, back a little bit from the arm weights but not too bad considering...today I am going to eat porridge/soup and bread/tofu & veg stir fry and fruit and nuts for snacks.

Will be shredding this evening when DH gets home from work. Have a fab day all Smile Brew

Mind if I join? Day 1 for me today Smile I've had a go several times in the past, but never really got beyond Level 1.

Welcome Atticus. Have you done your workout for today, or doing it later? Good luck!

I have a rare day where the toddler is actually having a nap, so decided to do my workout now. Hated every minute, but feel very pleased that this evening I will be able to sit on my arse and watch telly!

Can I join too? My weight is 10st3 and my waist is 31". I've been walking and doing other exercise DVDs since Christmas but am struggling to get back under 10st. I've done Levels 1 and 2 of the shred several times before but never made it to Level 3.

Yep, already done mine. It's definitely a nice feeling knowing you're done for the day! I'd forgotten how much I hate some of the strength exercises.

Welcome atticus and mm we must finish it this time - it's only 30 days how hard can it be? (pretty bloody hard which is why I bailed at day 23 or so last time and waited another 5 years before having another go Grin)

Well done for having done today's already! I far prefer to exercise in the morning but DH would never and I want to motivate him too so 8pm it is Hmm Did mean I slept well last night though Grin

Hi atticus , this time we will get to 30! Just finished mine, pfff not exactly a pleasure but feel very chuffed with myself now its done haha

I really hope we see some great results when we make it to the end, I keep looking up all these strong and healthy woman on instagram and thinking how I will look like that when we finish the shred Hmm

Had a spinach + berries smoothie bowl for breakfast, soup + small slice rye bread for lunch, small cabbage/butternut bubble&squeak + fried egg for dinner.
Somehow also managed to down a liter of coconut water. Maybe it defeats the purpose if you have to much of it....
I was snacking on these almonds from waitrose, 100gr bag. By the time I got halfway through I realised they are 649cal per 100gr!!!!
