All welcome for mutual support while gritting our teeth and getting through any of Jillian's horrendous delightful programmes.

I'm place marking for tomorrow, when I'm going to start the One Week Shred.

Hello all
I've not posted for a few days. No shred Thursday (walked 7 miles and did an hour or two in the garden) and none on Friday and sat (went camping). Short run today and shred L1D4. Back on track..

Happy holidays Imogen

Hello. Place marking too. Left the July shred thread as I fractured my coccyx. Was about I start level two so I'm hoping I can do this in about three weeks time when I will be six weeks post fall and hopefully recovered! Good luck all and lets get toned!!

Checking in too. I'm doing level two of the Shred with 3 and 4kg weights. I've done two so far and I am planning another tomorrow morning. Finding it really effective.

One Week Shred strength done. Not too bad, though I didn't preview it beforehand so it was a bit of a challenge to the co-ordination. I had good intentions about doing the strength and the cardio back-to-back but the lure of the coffee pot was too strong: I'll do the cardio this evening. (Though we have friends coming to lunch and then an estate agent coming to look at the house so I may not be in the mood...)

Blueskies80, sorry to hear about your coccyx, and hope it's healing well.

Donge13, how did it go?

May I join you all? I've just done L1D1 of 30DS!

I was terrified before hand but am so pleased I just went for it! Thought I was going to throw up a couple of times but the feeling passed quickly. Although post workout I'm left with a permanent sick feeling a lot like morning sickness..... Shock

DC2 is now 7mths and I have a lot of weight (40kg gained over the years) to lose and am motivated to be fit and active with my dcs.

Does anyone use My Fitness Pal? How did you enter the workout, annoyingly it's not listed and I have know idea how many calories are burned.

I have also been looking for instructions on how to follow the DVDs but have only found what people have done on here. Where did you learn to do 10 days L1, 10 days L2 etc? Do you do rest days too?

I'm in awe of those of you doing multiple workouts per day, you are all very motivating!

One Week Shred cardio done. Really not convinced I'm going to stick to this - the cardio is every bit as bad as the Body Rev cardio discs and I'm supposed to do it every effing day! One armed burpees forsooth.

Welcome, Fraggle! The only instructions I ever found were on here - Jillian gives advice about her other DVDs but, frustratingly, not for the Shred. It's a good idea to have one or two rest days a week: I have two so I have every weekend off (so one level of the Shred took me two weeks). Others have just one, or have one weekend rest day and one midweek one. You need to work out what works best for you, but it's a good idea to have at least one rest day each week.

Please can I join too? I have previously got to day 23 of 30DS but stopped due to an injury. Then I recovered and started doing other dvds (Davina, Hannah Waterman & that Charlotte off Geordie Shore) and for some reason I stopped a couple of weeks ago.
I'm determined to lose weight for a wedding in 4 weeks so I started low carbing last week. Now I'm on a roll with the eating, I need to get back into the exercise thing, and I need motivation!
I will be starting tonight with my new 3kg weights (I was using 1.5 kg weights before but thought I needed heavier ones but to be honest, they feel really bloody heavy). Wish me luck!

did Shred L1D2 this morning, got my smiley face, but am suffering badly with aching calf muscles - think I need a bit more of a warm up and/or more stretching afterwards. I did however manage to go all the way through the third cardio slot without having to stop, so am feeling pretty pleased with myself (I'm stupendously unfit and 2-3 stone overweight so this is HARD for me Smile).

Am also in awe of those of you doing more than one session a day and am hiding from blardyfeck and her three pound weights mine are 0.5 and quite heavy actually

Can I join in too? I'm doing a mix of jillians in preparation for my holiday in 3 weeks! Really panicking as I can't get to the gym as much as I normally would, which isn't exactly what I want with the threat of a bikini looming ocer me!

OublietteBravo · 03/08/2015 19:23

Today I did 30DS L2D7 and L3D2.

For those of you with aching calves, I find that swapping jump rope and butt kicks really helps (so jumping jacks and butt kicks in circuit 1 cardio, and then jump rope ans boxing in circuit 2).

L1D7 although as I haven't done it for 4 days, I should probably call it D1 again. Had a disastrous couple of days at the end of last week - the kind where you think going back to work f/t would be easier - and the weekend just vanished in about 20 seconds.

Weighed myself properly today at Boots and I'm only 400g lighter than 1 month ago Sad curse those Maltesers, not as light as the adverts would have you believe!

L1 D5 of 30DS done. Was pretty easy I'm pleased to say. Might move onto L2 tomorrow.

Shocked and dismayed to hear that about Maltesers trilby. You just can't trust those adverts....Wink

Level one day 3 for me today. It's getting easier already.

Those of you who have stuck at the shred in the past have you seen a noticeable difference in your size/shape?

Shred L1D9 done. I'm using 2kg weights for most of it but 1kg for the lunges and biceps curls because I hate them. I'm still struggling with the easy version of the push-ups as well.

The One Week Shred is really tough, Imogen! The strength is doable but the cardio is insane.

I have done it as doing one each per day, depending on whether I have time in the morning or evening. I saw good results with just a few days of that, so stick with it!

Congratulations to all new Shredders. Agreed that the first three days are the hardest.

I did the abs workout of Kickbox Fastfix this morning, as I was pressed for time.

Silvertap - yes, I've seen a massive difference. Honestly, you will change if you get into a routine.

This is my arm!! All thanks to half an hour of Jillian 3 - 5 times a week. I've never been to the gym in my life!

When I first did the shred, it was going for a wee that I found horrifically painful! Going to do l2d1 tomorrow, I did l1 last week, but didn't find it challenged me enough now I'm a lot more active (never thought I'd say that!)

I worked my way thru it for about 2/3 weeks a while back and did see a big difference, mainly on my waist!

One Week Shred strength done, second time. This is really quite do-able - a few difficult moves but mostly not too bad. MsRaspberry, I'm glad you said the cardio was insane - I thought it was awful but also thought that was probably because of my pathological loathing of cardio!

We're out all day today, and I'll see if my willpower is strong enough to make me do the cardio again when we get in. The incentive is that if I don't, I'll have to do it first thing tomorrow morning and the thought of getting up to it is horrendous.

I haven't noticed a difference in size since I started on my journey with crazy Jillian but I haven't been trying to lose weight. There's a definite difference in shape - I don't precisely have abs, but I have two lines down the sides of my midriff, and my arms are toned. My legs always were toned because I cycle a lot so I've noticed less difference there.

Oubliette those are great results! Well done!

L1D2 done! Donge13 we're sharing the journey, my thighs are suffering too! Didn't think I could do it before the workout but was happily surprised. Bit worried if I'm going to be able to walk tomorrow though Hmm

Thanks Imogen for the advice. I was thinking of doing weekend rest days and doing each level over 2wks, glad to hear others do that too. I'm not using any weights this week to ease into it and will add them in for the second week.

I'm also taking extra magnesium to help with the sore muscles and cramps. I also have to do extra stretches afterwards as I really don't think there is enough on the DVD.

This is so exciting! I can't believe I've managed to these 2 days!!
