How to get back into Running?

This time last year I ran the London Run to the Beat - half marathon. I enjoyed it, however since then I have not done much running do to family commitments and a foot injury. Now I would really like to get back into it, but just don't know where to start. I would love some advice re a training plan etc. Rather than just go out and run as far as you can for as long as you can…..

How about the couch to 5k site? They have podcasts for 5k - 10k and for increasing sped or stamina as well as the beginners ones.

Definitely couch to 5k.
I used an app called Adidas Micoach which works on a similar strategy.

Thanks so much I did do the couch to 5k when I first started running. However I used the NHS one and their music drove me crazy. Can anyone suggest one that I can run in conjunction with my own music.

Lots of running apps use their own equivalent - runkeeper is the one I use now.

Zombies Run have a 5k training programme which is fun, and you can import your stats into Runkeeper too if you like that sort of thing.
