Running in the rain - product rec please!

Hello all,

Hope that everyone is keeping well.

As it's pouring with rain it got me thinking that I should probably get something "proper" to run in for wet weather.

I have my eye on a More Miles waterproof running jacket on eBay. Does anybody have any experience of this brand? If it's not good what would you recommend instead? I could go to about 40 if I had to (but would prefer to spend less!)

Thanks so much

Edith

I have one I got at TKMaxx. I find it slightly bulky and quite hot to run in - but I usually run in running leggings and a fitted top so it's probably that I'm not used to it. I actually love running in the rain in normal running gear, and then obviously having a shower at home!

I prefer running in normal stuff too - especially this time of year when it's not actually that cold. Anything waterproof gets too warm.

I hate waterproof jackets. I sweat a lot and these make me feel like an oven.

I prefer to get wet.

Hmmmm, thanks for the thoughts. I did enjoy getting drenched the other night but think I won't so much when it's colder (wimp!) so I think I will try searching for something light and shower proof rather than actually proper waterproof as you're right, they are hot.

Thanks!

Keep an eye out in aldi and lidl. I got a light shower proof running rain jacket for a great price. I haven't tried it in the rain yet as I only picked it up a few weeks ago, but it's light, well fitted and seems reasonably breathable.

I like pertex jackets. Very lightweight. Windproof, you still get wet but not cold. Dries very quickly.

Can be more expensive that the OP wanted, but it is sale season so there might be a bargain to be had somewhere.

I have a more miles reflective winter running top, it's brilliant but I only really wear it when it's below 5 degrees as it's super warm! It seems to repel the rain too, although never been out in it for more than an hour in rain. I'd definitely recommend the brand though.

Thank you! I got a more miles gilet on eBay and it's great. Not totally waterproof but definitely kept me dry enough while I was out. Big improvement on wringing my clothes out! And while I was there I got lush karrimore leggings and top and totally look like a real runner now (as long as you ignore my lack of speed!) Smile
