Right, lets find all the park runners we have on here. I did my first park run on sat.

I am very impressed with my time of 33.18 :) I am ridiculously pleased with myself.

So park runners, where are you?

There was a parkrun thread a while back, I don't know where it went.

That's a brilliant time, well done :) What's your course like?

My best parkrun time is 31.01, which is a miracle considering my local course has massive hill at the end. There's a new one starting near me soon that's mostly flat and tarmac so we shall see if I can get a new PB on that one!

I've volunteered as marshall a couple of times, that's really good fun.

I'm one!!

Done 3 now. 31.15 is best time so far. Ds does it with me too. He's 14, so it's nice to have something in common with him. He's not embarrassed to be seen with me... But he is a bit faster than me

Done one so far and got sub-30 just - 29:56!!! I was so ridiculously pleased. It's quite a hilly route as well. I'm off to South Africa for a couple of weeks but then I'm going to start doing it every week.

Our one has a hill in the middle, it's not nice. Lol

I'm doing another local flatter one in a few weeks. I'm going to volunteer on the next weekend I have my big kids (8+6) so they can come and see what it's all about!

I'm still 2 1/2 stone overweight so as I lose the weight I'm hoping my time improves.

It's nice to see other park runners! I'd never even heard of it until a friend mentioned it 8 weeks ago when I started running!

Love Parkrun, my local one is pancake flat but in loops so the good runners lap you. It can be a bit gutting!

Got my PB of 29.50 the week I came last. Grin

Isit. He doesn't know. Yet.

Well done yoni I was Shock that I wasn't last tbh. And I thankfully didn't notice everyone lapping me (although its only 2 laps at ours) or I may have been disheartened.

I can't make the park run this weekend, I'm going to go at 7am and do the same route though. I need all the practise I can get!

I just started parkrunning in June. My PB is 28.13. I was so proud of that, but have to admit that it happened mostly because DH was behind me pushing our dds in the double buggy. I refused to be beaten by a man that hadn't run in over a year who was also pushing a double buggy!

ants I can understand that determination. 28 minutes, wow I've got to up my game! :)

Did a 7k run tonight with friends in 45 minutes. Not bad at all.

I'm aiming for a sub 30-min 5k as well, IsThatTrue, hopefully by the end of September. Can't see me doing it in this weather. I did beat my Parkrun PB the other day but only by 2 seconds Grin

Sub 30 would be great although I'm having to up my distance atm as I've entered a 10k run on sept 15th, so my speed training isn't getting the attention it deserves right now.

Anyone aiming for anything in particular? Speed? Races? General fitness? Weight loss?

I've discovered two possible parkruns, scrutinised the times of people in my age group and can see there is a good chance I won't be last (not that I'd mind much) but I haven't registered yet and I feel like I want someone to come with me the first time Blush

where are you mitchy? I took my ds,but it backfired a bit as he wants to do it every week now

EauRouge · 26/07/2013 14:43

They have several new runners at my local one every week, so I doubt you'll be alone. They are very friendly and there's no snobbery from the fast runners towards the slower ones.

I know what you mean though, I almost chickened out of my first one but I'm really glad I didn't.

YoniRanger · 26/07/2013 16:37

Coming last is not that bad, honestly!

I'm aiming for sub 25 before I become a veteran, so February next year.

IsThatTrue · 26/07/2013 18:18

M1tchy register now! It's well worth it, everyone's friendly, they don't make you feel unwelcome at all. At the one I did the slowest was 42 minutes. Which for a 5k is not a bad time, especially with the huge hill in the middle.

yoni how many do you need to run to become a veteran? 100 or 250? Sub 25 is way out of my reach right now!

You become a veteran when you turn 35 I think.

Oh I see, I have a while to get my speed up before then then. :)
