Tell me about running clubs

I did the C25K a while ago and I can now run 5k in 40mins by myself and I managed 35mins at the first (and only Parkrun) I've been to. I've got a running buddy and we try to go once a week. She's a bit faster than me but we manage to run together. I'm curious about running clubs/groups? So any of you who run with one can you tell me a bit about them? How do you find one? How do they cater for different abilities? Should I wait until I'm a bit faster first? Do they vary their workouts/routes? Not sure what to ask, just tell me what comes to mind!

Mine does extra things as well as running. Shuttles up steep hills, running with weights, team games, sprint work etc, as well as distance running

Made new friends too!

I haven't been to one because they're on at awkward times for me but all my local clubs have websites which explain how they cope with the varying abilities of members. One of the clubs splits the runners into groups according to speed so you run with similar runners.
They generally will let you join in for a session or two so you can decide if you enjoy it. Try one out and see how you go. Good luck cheese!

I joined one last year just as I was starting week 5 of the C25K. I saw an advert in the local shop for a beginners group meeting once a week. I now go twice a week and to Parkrun too.

You dont have to be a brilliant runner to join a club (I think, but I may be wrong, that most people believe you do have to be) as they cater for all abilities.

Mine generally have training sessions one night a week and just running the other night, though you can do either at each night if you wished.

The main thing I found is that they are a chance to meet other people who also enjoy running. They are also good for encouragement.

I know of a few in the Yorkshire area if you are anywhere near I can give you a few names (you can PM me if you dont want to say on here)

Otherwise good luck with finding one.
