Is anyone doing this/done it?

Done my fit test yesterday and done pretty shite

Done the first circuit today, fooking hell, couldnt even manage half of it! I thought id finished the circuit, was feeling pretty chuffed, then i realised that was just the warm up! Jeez

Mitchy1nge Wed 05-Jun-13 09:17:00

I think my friend offered to lend me this - is this the 10 DVD thing? It was about £100 and she hasn't even used disc one

will TRY sometime this week, thanks for reminder and good luck with the rest of the program

VitoCorleone Wed 05-Jun-13 12:02:01

Yea about 10 discs.

Seriously you have to be very fit to do this, its HARD, im more used to The Shred which is pretty tame in comparison.

Try it and let me know how you do!

Mitchy1nge Wed 05-Jun-13 12:25:42

ok I have sent a prompt, am quite looking forward to the pain and the thirst grin

am not v fit but the only thing I have ever really really struggled with was a HIITS class and all but three of the hardcore athletes were utterly fucked about ten minutes in too - it was the speed and the impossibility of some of the moves (like, you know when you are bouncing in a plank pose, swinging legs to the left and back to centre and then to the right? It was incredibly stupidly speeded up WITHOUT THE MIDDLE BOUNCE motherfucker) after that I hurt myself very easily running grrrrr

please tell me is not an hour of doing that for thirty seconds with only ten seconds of recovery? confused

I tired it and gave up.

I'm now doing 30 Day Shred instead..which is easy compared to Insanity!!!

CoolStoryBro Wed 05-Jun-13 12:31:57

If Insanity is too hard, try P90X which is also a multi DVD workout. It's really good if you keep at it.

Mitchy1nge Wed 05-Jun-13 12:36:26

I did the p90 workouts for a while, no DVDs, it was just a weight lifting routine I think that varied day by day? There was a sort of more cardio version too called p90 lean?

Shred was disappointing, spin is more fun and worthwhile, but I do love that Jillian smile

anyway insanity coming tonight, I wonder if I will die?

Mitchy1nge Wed 05-Jun-13 12:42:17

oh FIRM EXPRESS that was the one I preferred when I couldn't wouldn't whatever get to the gym every day

does anyone want it? You need a multi-region player I think

CoolStoryBro Wed 05-Jun-13 12:57:20

Mitchum, my P90X is 12 DVDs and a mixture of routines. I'm in the US though so wonder if they're two different things.

Mitchy1nge Wed 05-Jun-13 13:00:01

oh no it's the same thing, someone sent me the routines and omitted to mention the DVDs

helpful grin

I was obsessed with weights for a while, do you still train in the same way?

CoolStoryBro Wed 05-Jun-13 13:11:11

Well I'm back using it at the moment because its swimsuit season. It's my late Spring workout of choice!!

VitoCorleone Wed 05-Jun-13 14:02:38

I think its more like 3 minutes intensity followed by 30 second water/rest break. The warm up is like 20 minutes or so itself, absolute killer. I couldnt even keep up with the stetching, its fucking hard. But im determined to do the full 60 days.

Mitchy1nge Wed 05-Jun-13 14:05:45

yay summer is coming!

ok insanity is here, friend is even photocopying the calendar and fit test thing - NO WAY am I going to be able to keep count of anything except the suicide jumps, I can only count up to about 8 before my mind loses the will

VitoCorleone Wed 05-Jun-13 14:12:15

Ive wrote down my results from the fit test, very hard to keep count, especially the power knees.

My results where

switch kicks - 72
Power jacks - 26
Power knees - 58
Power jumps - 30
Globe jumps - 5
Suicide jumps - 9
Push up jacks - 11
Plank obliques - 34

Mitchy1nge Wed 05-Jun-13 15:01:04

oh I was just about to ask about results

am going to share mine then argh

(there were problems with push up jacks when I didn't realise I was moving forward along the floor until my head smashed into a speaker - excuses excuses!)

Ok so
switch kicks 94
power jacks 47
power knees 96
power jumps 39
globe jumps 10
suicide jumps 12
push up jacks 21
low plank oblique 37

Mitchy1nge Wed 05-Jun-13 15:04:35

I had to get someone to count out loud for me while I did it in my bra, pants and trainers blush

just looking at the food plan that comes with, are you following that too?

VitoCorleone Wed 05-Jun-13 15:12:49

No im not following to food stuff, but i am on MyFitnessPal and calorie counting.

You done good on the fit test!

And i do mine in pants and bra too grin

Mitchy1nge Wed 05-Jun-13 15:19:07

thank you thank you

<takes a bow>

you have nooooo idea what to aim for at first do you? I was just trying NOT to knock the lights out again (low ceiling), but when the woman and the other man recorded their current and starting numbers I thought I must be in the range - some things we didn't know how to count either and I had to repeat like globe jumps (motherFUCKER!)

Mitchy1nge Wed 05-Jun-13 15:20:09

I'm on myfitnesspal - does it reveal all top secret private info if you buddy up with someone?

VitoCorleone Wed 05-Jun-13 17:05:36

If you add somebody on MFP they can see your photos (if you have any on there) updates like what exercise you've been doing and how many cals it burned and if you're food diary is open that too

If you want to add me my user name on there is KayleighRebecca25

Mitchy1nge Wed 05-Jun-13 17:18:17

grrrrr I can't work out how to add people unless they are FB friends or in my phone book and even then it won't because of iOS privacy settings confused if I pm you my name could you add me?

I really really really really really want to try the first workout, but have already re-labelled the whole insanity calendar and should save my energy for horse stuff tonight - oh how long is each session by the way, is it an hour? Half an hour?

VitoCorleone Wed 05-Jun-13 17:21:09

Its about an hour. About 20mins of that it warm up, plus about 10mins of stretching. I was trying not to look at the time when it was on grin

Yes PM me your name and i will add you.

Mitchy1nge Wed 05-Jun-13 17:33:24

ah thank you - just trying to plan day tomorrow, that is quite a big extra chunk of time so I'm glad I asked!

I will pm you, thank you so so much for posting about insanity, I think I'm going to love it (even the bits where I collapse in a pool of sweat groaning 'motherfucker'). Stopped smoking a few days ago and there is a lot of irritability to channel!

how did you know whether the first fit test is 'good' or not? I assumed it was just a way of tracking progress but are there specific goals to aim for?

VitoCorleone Wed 05-Jun-13 18:24:22

Oh well done on not smoking! I still smoke but im trying to cut down, its a fucking hard habit to break, i'll get there one day.

With the fit test i think the only goal is to re-do it every 2 weeks and try and beat your previous scores. But i think your results sounded good, you done more than me anyway! But yeah just tracking progress really

Mitchy1nge Wed 05-Jun-13 20:55:01

I have already put on about 50 stone since I stopped smoking a few days ago - insanity has to help shock

I'll try the eating plan too, it looks similar to the P90x and lean regimes . Can you see my eating habits? eeep
