Have started shiny new thread here

Please come and join me (or it'll be embarrassing grin )

Hi Project
Hmm, more regular weigh ins - how often do you weigh in now? I think I'm gonna do every fortnight - don't like to do it too often as have been known to get a bit obsessed. I also measured waist, hips and thighs so will recheck these every 3-4 weeks too, my hips seem to have got massive!

Hi Eagle
Thanks for the congrats and congratulations to you on your baby too! A lot of people say that it's hard to lose too much weight until you stop bf, I stopped a couple of weeks ago and my appetite has definitely decreased but I think the warmer weather is helping too.

Just going to put the kettle on . . . . . .

eagleray Tue 21-May-13 14:20:01

Yes Projectbabyweight a new thread might be a good idea as that always attracts a flurry of newcomers!

Am v scared at the prospect of having my weight converted to imperial - although I have a terrible feeling I am around 14 stone or similar.

Interesting you are doing the 30 day shred! I started it yesterday, although didn't get v far as DD had a Jumperoo meltdown and my F/G cup boobs are not compatible with starjumps. I now have a giant sports bra though so will have another go later this eve.

Re the boredom eating, normally that's an issue for me, but these days I am just downright bloody starving due to BF! Still got to keep tabs on things as the weight is sticking v stubbornly despite what the books say. My snack treats are currently the mini houmous pots with a bunch of carrot sticks, or a bag of cheesy wotsits!

Congratulations Skinnychai on your baby and at having only 4kg to lose! envy

Hello skinnychai!

I have exactly the same problem with boredom eating, and the tea/coffee trick is working fairly well. It's still calories (esp as I take sugar blush ) but fewer than I'd have otherwise.

My tummy is significantly less wibbly after 10 days of the 30 day shread, so I'd recommend that. However, I didn't lose anything from my hip/bum measurement so I gave up (another blush )

As far as I'm aware the best approach is low-carb, but I just get so tempted by chocolate in particular. Might start weighing myself more often to stay focussed. Wish I could start running again but there's no time at the moment. Will stop rambling now grin

skinnychai Tue 21-May-13 12:08:52

Hi there, I'd like to join too. Dd born in Feb, am at 57kg now and want to get back to 53kg, my post Ds weight.
Managed to get them sleeping at the same time yesterday and did some yoga. My problem is boredom eating through out the day, must stop raiding the fridge & biscuit tin. Has anyone got any tips to stop this? Currently trying to have a mug of tea when this happens which is working a bit.
I also have the tummy wibble, hoping the yoga will help sort this.

projectbabyweight Tue 21-May-13 10:33:59

Hi eagleray, of course you can! The more the merrier. Though this thread seems to be dying a death, so shall we start a new one?

I'll have to convert your kgs to stones, so I have an idea of where you are. But I know that before having dcs I used to be just under 50kg, as the treadmill told me. That seems crazy now!

eagleray Sun 19-May-13 01:03:19

Hello - could I join please?

DD1 was born in Jan and managed to reach the lofty heights of 100kg around my due date! Went down to 90kg after first week and then no more weight loss despite BF.

Started WW about 6 weeks ago and lost around 4kg so far, but need to keep going! Aiming to get back to pre-pregnancy weight of 80kg by end of June, then will tackle the next 10kg and so on (weigh in kg these days as am too horrified to convert to stones and lbs blush )

And my tummy has an absolutely shocking wibble

projectbabyweight Fri 17-May-13 09:36:16

Hi to anyone who reads this. Possibly nobody grin
Who wants to start a shiny new thread, where we state our plans and goals?
I still have 17lbs to lose, I'm going properly low-carb from this morning, and I'm 10 days into the 30 day shred.
I'll start a new thread if anyone's keen.

projectbabyweight Sat 04-May-13 14:53:48

Hey crazy. Still at least you're only carrying half a stone extra, bet you look really good.
Lack of sleep really affects my food intake and motivation, hopefully won't last much longer. Some friends of mine did CC at 6 months and it worked pretty fast but I'm putting it off for a bit, maybe he'll spontaneously sleep through (I can dream grin ).
Yes the weather should be a big motivator, I've got lots of summer dresses but don't want to show my calves at the mo. Being a pear shape they're quite chunky when I'm carrying extra weight.
I'm aiming to lose 1lb a week and I haven't been very disciplined so far - ok I've been on the chocolate biscuits! So got a lot of work to do before my weigh-in on Tuesday sad

crazypaving Wed 01-May-13 16:59:22

I'm still feeling a bit off-wagon-y sad not getting much sleep atm and craving sugar. slipping back into old habits scarily easily, and being way too lax. haven't gained any weight but this last half stone's a bugger - never lost it after ds1. not sure what it's going to take, really. I'm cheating myself but can't seem to stop. sigh.

isn't the weather an improvement though? hopefully if I start getting more sleep the weather will motivate me!

projectbabyweight Wed 01-May-13 16:41:17

Sorry so many "feel"s in that post grin

projectbabyweight Wed 01-May-13 16:39:38

Just worked out that the 11 lbs I've lost since the New Year works out to about 300g a week! Slow and steady, I say. I feel confident I won't gain it back, it was only pregnancy x 2 that caused it, and I don't feel I'm "on a diet" as such.

Today I'm squeezing my mum bum into a pre-dc pair of jeans, and my mum tum is making a bulge in my pre-dc top but I hardly care, it feels great. I actually feel a lot more like myself in these clothes.

How's everyone else feeling?

NanoNinja Fri 26-Apr-13 06:53:10

Hi,
I've definitely fallen off the wagon - regular evening glasses of wine being the main problem. That being said, I have lost weight since starting, but probably at the rate of 50g a week or something.
Anyway, I return to work on Monday, which I'm dreading, but it does mean that I will have a bit more structure to my days, which always works for me. But on the other and, I will be sat on my arse for five hours a day....

crazypaving Tue 23-Apr-13 13:07:55

kind of comforting to hear I'm not alone with the weird weight distribution. only a lot of mine is under my chin angry blush

I can just about shoe-horn myself into some pre-ds1 jeans but the love handles ain't pretty.

back on the wagon it is! <resolute>

projectbabyweight Tue 23-Apr-13 12:58:37

Did you have a c-section pasties? That's what I'm blaming for my new tummy!

projectbabyweight Tue 23-Apr-13 12:57:20

Excellent work pasties! You must be proud. Don't go gaining again though!
My weigh in was a disappointment - haven't lost anything for a few weeks. I'm stuck at 9st 4lbs (aiming for 8st as I'm short and narrow boned). Still I'm not surprised considering the very little effort I've been putting in lately.
I can just squeeze into my biggest non-maternity jeans though smile
Are you breastfeeding crazy? I think it really affects appetite so it's a real challenge to eat less at the same time. I've also found I'm a slightly different shape now after ds2, I've got more of a tummy that's for sure.
Really want to look good for a wedding in July. Let's climb back on the wagon together!

Iheartpasties Tue 23-Apr-13 11:37:31

Oh yes, my weight is redistributed! I have an over hang where my belly is.

crazypaving Mon 22-Apr-13 12:57:08

well done pasties! good work!

project how did your weigh in go?

I've lost motivation now I'm at my pre-ds2 weight. still have nearly half a stone to go but am being quite naughty. someone gave me an amazing pack of biscuits today and I ate 6 before checking their ww value - turns out I ate 30 points in one go. I'm allowed just over 40 a day! argh so annoyed with myself. and I keep doing stuff like this. it's like I'm sabotaging myself sad

and I might be at my pre-ds2 weight but I don't look it. my weight seems to be distributed in different places now. weird.

<chases wagon to try and climb back on>

Iheartpasties Sun 21-Apr-13 10:52:30

HELLLLOOOOO <<waves arms around and jumps up and down a little bit>>

How is everyone going? are you still dieting? still weighing in ?? hows it all going??

I have managed to loose about the amount of weight I am happy with right now. I bought quite a few new clothes and feel quite good with my shape, I just need a new bra or two. I haven't weighed in, in a while but I'm happy enough with things at the moment smile

projectbabyweight Mon 15-Apr-13 11:44:40

Hi crazy. Have done it. Well done on your loss, not far till your goal now!
I'm weighing in tomorrow, after procrastinating for a few weeks due to easter. Really can't wait to get back in my nice clothes.
Chocolate is my weakness too. I could live without cake, biscuits etc (if I had to, not saying I do!)
Keep it up smile

crazypaving Sun 14-Apr-13 20:13:51

Hi project! thought I was the last one standing! If you could that would be great.

I'm now 10st 7lb, DS2 is 6m!

Very proud of myself. Now just need to stay away from the chocolate...so easy to start stuffing my face again.

projectbabyweight Tue 09-Apr-13 15:12:09

Well done crazypaving! It feels great doesn't it? smile

Shall I update the stats thread for you? If so, how many weeks is your ds2 now?

crazypaving Thu 04-Apr-13 09:00:56

that's weird. weigh-in day for me and I'm down to 10st 8lb, only 1lb off my pre-ds2 weight! I presume the excesses of this week will land on my arse next week? this weight loss thoroughly undeserved!

I've lost a whole stone!!!! shock

crazypaving Tue 02-Apr-13 16:03:14

somebody slap me! I've fallen off the wagon and am going berserk with the chocolate! It's not even mine - it's DS1's!! Argh diet going to hell - I can't lose the plot now when I'm so close to my goal, help help!

Must not eat more chocolate...

Iheartpasties Mon 01-Apr-13 06:00:16

Welcome Evil!

I think we're all following our own paths, but encouraging each other here and moaning a bit and whatnot as well along the way.

Crazy - yes, somehow my snacks are higher in calibre but obviously mostly bad for me still. Stupid I know!

I can see a weight loss in my face now and I'm very happy with that.

I had a free style session this weekend. Even typing that makes me cringe, but it was fab. It was with a stylist who could tell me what clothes suited me and I came away feeling a million dollars. I had worried before hand that there would be a crowd and the stylist would make me strip to my pants (like gok wan)!!!! hahahaha. She didn't though!!
