What to do when you can't find anything you enjoy?

Honestly, I hate anything that involves excessive amounts of moving around. As in loathe the very idea of it. But I need to get fitter to go with my (v. slow) weight loss. I am in a quandry.

I should also mention I can't do much that involves running or "pounding" motions with my legs - a few months back I gave myself excrutiating leg pain by doing too much exercise in a short period of time, and it flares back up if I have to run anywhere. Don't know if that will ever go away, bloody hope so. I also suffer from lower back pain (thankyou DS Hmm) if I do too much.

What can I do? I have no idea why people like exercising/sport, all it does is make me hot and sweaty and generally in pain. It doesn't help that the whole time I'm just waiting for it to end so I can actually do something interesting, which makes exercising seem to take forever ...

And before anyone suggests them, these are out:
Anything that involves being in a class. NO.
That goes for those Zumba-type things as well, or anything strenuous that involves being outside. Bigger NO.
Swimming. Too expensive, plus I can't do it without DS as a shield.

This would be so much easier if I could just find something I liked, but even walking (which I do enjoy, but never get to do on my own so never go far) bores me after about an hour. I am casting my net in the hopes that some brainy mnetter will know of a magic exercise routine which is both interesting and can be done indoors, on your own Grin Not that I'm holding out much hope.

Find a local social walking club. An hour of walking is tons, if you could do half hour of walking every day you'd be well fit.
Is there any way you could make swimming cheaper & more sociable? Sounds perfect for you otherwise.

30 Day shred worth a go? I'm not saying you would enjoy it Wink but it is over quickly (less than half an hour), is done at home and is very effective. Plenty of enthusiasts here on mn, look especially on weight loss club board.

Nordic walking ? my local authority runs groups in the park and they all look like they are having a great time, and much fitter than us BuggyFit-ers.

Trampolining?
Circus skills?
Cycling - lots of women only/family rides about (google "Cyclists Touring Club" for local clubs, but don't be put of by archaic and now less accurate name). DH got into cycling because of bad knees from cricket in his teens.
Conservation volunteer work - not a sport as such, but a great work out!
Dry slope skiing?

Have a look at insanity dvd's and jillian michaels. Both do amazing work outs in 20 minute sessions.

Confused bangers, don't you need to be pretty fit to start with the insanity workouts? You'll have the poor op killing herself!

I've not done them do not sure what level they start at but maybe you're right! I've done jillian michaels and that has different levels so is a goody for anyone.
