I have posted in chat as thought traffic would be higher but nada.

I need a gps watch as I am fed up with mapmyrun, live rural so try to rely on guessing and my phone is shagged so can't use gps on there with an app.

I need something that is basic ,I really just want distance, pace, time ect poss with hrm,not too fussed but might be useful for me.

Have looked at the 305,I have tiny wrists so may look stupid and be too heavy,405 is much better but is it worth all the money for stuff I am unlikely to use,110 looks great and only £130 on amazon, does anyone have this and if so do you recommend it.

Thoughts please as my brain now hurts from researching them :o

I got the 110 for Xmas, with heart rate monitor. It does everything I want - basically the things you said. You can download an application to store your run data on your PC, which is what I do, and you can compare gradients, heart rates, speed, and pace to your heart's content.

I'm sure it has functions which I've not explored yet, eg beeping so you can do intervals.

I have the 110 too. I really like it and agree with onehandflapping about the functionality. As far as I can work out you can't set it to beep for timed intervals, but you can set it for laps from 1/4 to (I think) 2 miles, so you can do intervals by distance. e.g. I set it for 1/4 mile laps and then run two fast with one recovery. I've only used the heart rate monitor once, but plan to use it more. One side effect is that you may well find yourself going up and down the road outside your house to get to a round mileage figure!!

The 305 really is the best option (really cheap, all the functions, good battery/memory), unless you don't like the large size, in which case the 110 does the job with compromises that you probably don't care about. Also you can probably get it for nearer 100 than 125.

Don't get the 405 unless you've tried out the bezel - it's awful - although some people like it obviously.

I love the 110 with hrm. Keep an eye on amazon because the price fluctuates.

I have tiny wrists and the 305 is fine. I bought the bike connector which came with a Velcro strap I use with it and a wrist band.

It really is a very good value watch, mines 2 years old and I've no complaints.

Thanks for all your views,I have put a 110 and a 305 into my baskets on ebay/amazon and will look for the best deal as that's what this will come down to but does anyone know if you can get a bike attachment for the 110 or is it purely a wrist one as dh said if I got it then he could put it on his bike as he is a cyclist rather than a runner so something that can do both would be fab (I saw Doyou said the 305 can go on a bike).

You can put any watch on a bike with generic watch mounts - which would be cheaper than the 305's bike mount kit (although the velcro strap you get with it is really good and you could use the generic watch mount there to)

The 110 does do the most important thing for biking - that of showing Speed instead of Pace, but it doesn't have any navigation capabilities which the 305 does, but not really enough to worry about.

Either will be an excellent watch for you.

I have the 110 and really like it. I bought one for my DM for Christmas - she was mentioning that she was going for walks but never knew how far she'd been and she loves it (and she's not particularly tech savvy).

another vote for the 110, I have small wrists and this fits comfortably, its also grey and pink and very girly!! easy to use as I am a techno pleb. Keep an eye out at sweatshop.co.uk as they had this model for £70 just before christmas.

I have the 405 with heart rate monitor and love it. I have very small wrists and it fits fine. The bezel is easy to use. Not sure what the fuss is about it.

How did you find it?

After much looking round, I ordered DH the 405 with heart rate monitor for Xmas, I was going to get the 405cx but I read a lot of reviews and it calculates the calorie usage differently and pretty I accurately so I stuck to the 405.

He seems to love it but I suspect he has bigger wrists than you!

I used to have a 205, which I liked (could programme intervals etc and do multisports) but no heart rate monitor; I now have a 110 which is great for heart rate, distance, pace, although I miss the more detailed displays and the intervals. But it is smaller and nicer looking - you wouldn't mind (too much) wearing it as a watch (which I do, quite often)
