Am I alone in having no motivation?

I lost 4 stone this year and was training 4-5 times a week and loving it. Eating a healthy 3 meals a day, good food, green tea etc, wasnt missing out on anything as not dieting. Managed to get back into a size 8-10 for holidays Smile

But I seem to have lost all motivation, its dark and cold at night and I cant be arsed to go to the gym, I am not even walking to school every day due to the rain.
Two nights this week I have stayed home and eaten chesse and crackers followed by something sweet and naughty.

Have put 2lbs on this week alone and it will be more if I carry on.

How can I get my motivation back and is it just the whole winter thing? I wouldnt mind but I have to be back in a bikini in 4 months Shock

Well done on the weight loss! I find it hard to exercise alone - can you sign up for a course at the gym or join a running club/ squash league or something? Sounds like you need to try something fresh..

you need to factor in breaks in your training - apart from now - when was the last time you factored in a break of three weeks to let your body rest?

I would suggest you have another week off and then get back in slowly - just go to the gym and do a bit, then swim and sauna if you can

I have not been for two weeks - due manily to dd having accident -she is now at school and it has caught up with me so I am going in sunday have spin booked -but not going until then to let me body rest

I'm afraid I disagree on taking a break - it is all a matter of habit and if you get out of it it is really hard to get back into it.
I have just lost the same 3 stone for the second time. The first time all went well up to Christmas then I was ill, gave up gym for a couple of weeks and never went back - 3 stone back on by June. This time I am trying to be firmer with myself - I'm going to join a running club this week because I feel like slacking with the running now it is dark in the mornings and I hate running when there are dog walkers and teenagers about.

Why not book some different classes to usual, and at the end tell the instructor you will see them next week. If you run join a group or perhaps join a bootcamp work out.

I agree with the suggestion of trying something different. Can you get a new DVD, or try some classes that seem less 'work' and more fun, as a means of easing yourself back in? This was let you carry on doing something regularly, but stop the boredom setting in.
