To be apppalled by the remain camp attitude

On my FB feed, social media, TV we are being berated for voting leave, we are being called racist, thick, uneducated, stupid, poor, peasants, benefit scroungers...the list goes on. There is even an petition now to have another referendum because obviously the leave camp know absolutely nothing.

Boris Johnson was whisked away by the police when he left his house this morning as protesters were ranting at him, banging on his car. How is this democracy? why does it only run one way? Yet you cheer at this act of aggression.

I would understand if the vote was closer but it was not close, leave won by well over a million votes. Why cant you accept the results and look for a way forward together, why have a "me vs them" attitude.

I'm expecting some form of disruption to some city centres tomorrow as people gather to proclaim that; voting is fine, as long as you vote the same as them.

As a percentage, a million votes is tiny. It's incredibly close and nothing good will ever come of this because nearly half the country will be deeply unhappy the whole way through the next few years of negotiations. They should have stipulated that a minimum 60% majority was required for any decision to be valid.

I'm not sorry I've lost. I'm sorry to be leaving the EU. I'm sorry that the voice of racism, small mindedness and short-term thinking has won in my (previously) lovely country. You can say YOU are not racist or small-minded but you have voted with a group of people who are.

Incredibly hypocritical coming from the left wing who pride themselves on being non-judgemental and accepting. I've seen comments denigrating the 'geriatrics and council estates' '51% of the country are racist bigots' and other such distasteful stuff. People have voted this way because they don't feel listened to or represented. Because the vote is just the beginning, not the end. Now we have to deal with the consequences of this stupidity. The reason services are underfunded in the UK at the moment is because we have a Tory govt which ideologically believes in cutting back to the bare bones, not because of less than 2% of our GDP going to Europe. But now we have been voted out, on the back of an anti-immigration agenda, when EU immigrants aren't our problem in the first place as net-contributors, and we'll have to keep them anyway if we want to have any of the benefits of trade with the EU anyway.

The biggest losers will be the working classes as we lose the protection of the EU when it comes to employment rights etc.

20 years worth of EU contributions have been shaved off our economy since last night.
