David Cameron paid the EU £1.7 billion extra after promising not to

Last year the EU demanded the UK give them another £1.7 billion on top of all the EU fees we pa. David Cameron said he wasn't going to pay it & then paid them the full amount anyway

Surely this money could have done a lot of good in the UK?
