Where can I...

Recycle halogen light bulbs and buy peat free compost?
I think I can take the bulbs to the tip but I don't really want to make a special trip. Are there any shops that collect them like they do with batteries?
I also want to buy peat-free compost but it all seems to contain peat at our local garden centre. Can anyone recommend a brand please?

I've not used this company, but they seem to have a good range www.compostdirect.com/composts/c2?filter=1

I'm surprised your local garden centre doesn't have any, as it's a mainstream product now. The Laverstoke range is peat free, and ocado stock it.

That's brilliant, thank you. I had a look in the garden centre today. Best they do is low peat content.
We do in fact have a compost heap which obviously contains no peat whatsoever but I don't think the compost will be ready this year.

New Horizon organic peat-free compost is widely available - all my local garden centres stock it.
