My husband has been doing a little bit of driving work at weekends so we have some spending money for Christmas,

today he has been working for a large food company , but hes come home today discussed with what they actually put in the back off the lorry when hes out delivering,

Are people interested in how food is transported the same way as where it comes from, he has had a trolley of fresh veg and sandwiches next to a trolley full of bin rubbish, when they get back to the depot they empty the trollys , and reload it with yep more fresh stuff without it being washed, when he questioned it , its apparently normal

what do you think mums

Hmm, I don't know, it sounds of, but presumably it's all packaged - the fruit's not rolling around in the truck with the rubbish?

I am a bit surprised these things aren't more tightly controlled, but I can't really see any harm in it.

What sort of bin rubbish? Leftover food from a shop, leftovers from plates (prob ok), or filthy stuff like paper towels from toilets, or raw meat and bones from a butcher (prob not ok)?

The fresh stuff is probably on trays or in cartons?

He could always call Environmental Health to ask, but what you say doesn't automatically suggest a problem to me.

Its anything from bins. So if you put rubbish in the bin when shopping. Rubbish from inside the shop. It could be from the bakery. Its just general rubbish like what you would have from home.. Its the fact he said it smells. And its next to fresh fruit and meat on these trolleys.. Iam guessing it could be nappies. Or hand towels you use to. Dry your hands.
