How am I likely to get paid as an education officer for a charity?

I currently have quite a good job,as a chartered surveyor- in terms of hours (18 per week), pay, and convenience. But it is VVVV boring. There may be a possibility of me changing to another completely different job- as an education officer for a charity, I have been doing voluntary work for-and I am quite keen, but have absolutley no idea how much you would get paid to do something like this. Can anyone advise please (before I act too keen about it!)

Is this an actual job for a specific charity? In which case are they not able to tell you what salary they are offering?

I did a search on charityjob website for education officer. You could search for other voluntary sector job sites and do the same.

DP is paid £20k pa for a F/T education officer role with a charity - SE England (outside London). IME this line of work is a bit of a vocation. You do it because you love it, not for the money (enough to get by, but doesn't bear comparison with other graduate professions). Hope that helps. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do.

Education officer roles in museums (probably similar) can be anywhere from £15k to about £22k (maybe £24k at a push).

Very rewarding though.
