I started a new job 2 weeks ago. Its a 6 months probation period. I cant find anything in the notes about what notice i will need to give.... does anyone know??
Ill be really sad to leave, and i knew i would be leaving before i started the job. ( i wont tell them that). Ive just moved to a new area,( and back in with husband after being seperated, am forces so its an amry house. and this was my new job, but i kicked my husband out just before christmas. So i will be leaving soon.. just as soon as i can find another job back im my home town, which is 70 miles away so i cant commute.I do feel terrible, and that im lying, but i had to work as i need money to move. I feel so guilty. Has anyone got any advice?

Sorry to hear that you and your dh have split up . I'd hold your horses until you have a solid job to go to (I take it a new job will be the thing that means to leave the house and job you're in now?). During a probation period, your notice is usually the same period of notice they are obliged to give you, maybe a matter of weeks? Do you have a contract? Are you anticipating that you will have a very short time to give notice? Tbh, a marriage break-up is one of those things they may well be more understanding/sympathetic about, esp as they know you are in a forces house.

Good luck x

i wont leave until i have another job to go to... hoping that wont take too long.. but if im not out within 4 months of now i will get kicked out of the house anyway. It depends on when i get the new job to how much notice i can give... so if i find something and ive only got 2 weeks left in the house, i wont be able to give a months notice.
Probably they will be understanding, but i am worried how bad it will make me look and it will look terrible on my cv.

It won't look terrible: you'll just write down how long you worked there and if anyone at interview asks you to explain the short period, you explian that was when your marriage broke down. A decent employer wouldn't think anything badly of you because of that.

The only way it would look bad is if it's one in a long line of jobs that have only lasted 5 mins and that clearly wouldn't be the case with you. Imagine the roles being reversed: an employer with someone whose marriage has broken down and who is threatened with homelessness as a result. Would think badly of them? You'd have to be a pretty callous w**r if you did!

At my place you would ahve to give 4 weeks still - but the worst they can do is not pay you for what you haven't worked.
