my work was really really really slow to start this! So we got loads of us to just keep asking, sending emails to the HR person, send all the relevant info to the HR person, got the companies to contact them e.g. busybees and a few others (who do evrything anyway - who give them a presentation) explained the tax benefit to the company (they save as well), and just pushed and pushed until they felt obliged to, although they took over 6 months to get it done!
Can you go over the persons head who is refusing, e.g. mention it to director about possible savings to staff and company, that they can use it in recruiting, staff morale etc?
good luck ....

My previous employer was reluctant (majorly) due to the admin charges/hassle of managing it.

Now I am self employed-my boss is a BIATCH and won't can't do it!

my former employers were v slow on the uptake too. but we badgered away at them and got it into their thick skulls that it was win-win and they eventually relented/got their arses in gear. I assume it was fear of bureaucracy/hassle combined with the usual HR crapness that made them take so long

Does anyone know if both parents can claim childcare vouchers at the same time or does it have to be one or the other parent?

Both DH and I can get them through work so if nursery costs exceeded a single person's limit for the month, can both parents get them combined to cover the total amount?

or is it just one person per household?

Thanks

Both parent can claim them if working. DH and I have always both claimed.

Thanks fanjolina, I am just getting to grips with this sort of thing with DC1 on the way.

Have been told there is only a 1 month "window" once a year in which to apply for the vouchers at my work so am trying to read up on it all and how it works.

My husband's school (he's a teacher) has been delaying over this for the past three years. They say the admin is too complex , even though some other schools in the same LEA offer vouchers. DH has got fed up asking. Luckily I get them now - but my previous employer didn't offer them either.

My husband's company doesn't offer them because of the admin effort, and he's a director and part owner of the company. My last employer eventually got around to doing it, but cocked it up so it was a real effort to sort it all out. They wouldn't use any of the companies that do it all for you for some reason but insisted on paying the nursery directly. However they never managed to get the money transferred so I had to keep getting cheques made out to the nursery from payroll, it was a bit of a faff.
