national insurance cards

have any of you got 16yr olds who have recently received national insurance numbers? Did they get a plastic card? I think we got a letter a couple of months ago saying that he would be receiving his NI number soon, and they were confirming our address, but nothing since. he has been 16 for 6 weeks now - anyone in same position? Thanks

no my daughter recieved hers three days after we signed that letter conferming details etc maybe you should contact them y daughter not 16 for another 6weeks or so.
