Attended an inter agency meeting yesterday.
Meeting deteriotated into 2 members slagging of my agency's work and what we "should" be doing etc. I defended myself and agency as best I could but must have sounded a bit upset as both people involved said "it was nothing personal".

I'd like to rise above it but I'm really about this.

What is the best response to give - if any?
I think that it was a really cheap shot as I am the only person in the agency in our area, so it was personal.
Should I ring or email people involved?

Well. Was it just two of them who slagged off the agency? What was the contribution of other people there?

Perhaps you should email whoever was running teh meeting and ask them if they are going to be providing a written statement with everything they think your agency could be doing better on it, and if they want to meet with you in a one to one situation to talk about what was decided at teh meeting?

That way you prove that you are listening to the criticisms but it also gives you an opportunity to talk to them about how you felt about the behaviour of the two who were doing the slagging.
