some of you know that my work situation has been rubbish for a while, i currently have a first and final warning on my file due to what i think a harsh judgement. i only work three nights a week from 7 till 1 am but that is enough for me. i am kept out of nanagement loop alot and often just end up coming down to a pub that is a complte shithole and short staffed. last sunday i was left yet again to close the pub with two staff. there is a girl who was working that night who finished at ten. she offered to sit and wrap cutlery and i said that i would give her one of the glasses of wine i had been brought (staff are no longer allowed to drink at work due to high stock losses) soshe did that and took wine upstairs (she lives on site) the next thing i find out is the manager and his right hand man(i use the ternm loosely) have questioned her saying had i bullied her? why did i give her free wine? and the manager had left a note for everyone in the office to see saying rob to speak to julie regarding giving free wine etc. i am really pissed off and all the am bleats on about is how the pub is not performing, how the stocks are, about my performance etc. i have asked for a transfer but all the seem to want to do is shift blame. what shall i do?

yes but wether or not they give me one is another question, the area manager just seems to care about the bigger picture and not how i feel which in turn is affecting my performance. i do feel bullied yes and under trained. she said well you have been with us 4 years why no raining, i have continually asked for training since i got back of maternity but nothing ever comes of it. manager talks a good fight but that is it. dr has wanted to sign me off with depression for ages but always made to feel i will face conquences. am in a dither!

Ugh I also ...loosely...work in a pub (in the office) and I know exactly where you're coming from.

It's like they change the rules to suit themselves?

Are you a manager or just a bar person? Just wondering why the stocks would be your problem :D

Did you change your hours after coming back fom mat. leave?

I wouldn't be surprised if they were trying to get you to leave as they think you'll start to continually drop your hours.

I mean you probably wont but that's just not how they see it, everything is against them etc.etc.

Is there an operations manager/director you can speak to? Seems like blatent bullying, if you imply you feel discriminated because of your recent pregnancy they'll soon sort it out ;)

Nothing really to mention with regards to this, but, I do sort of know what you are going through, I'm having a terrible time at work and it is making me ill. Why do people think it is ok to bully people.

It's almost as if employers are doing us a favour by giving us a job

the area manager is outraged that i only work 17 hours a week and apparently i am the only one that she has ever heard of doing those hours. i get the impression that the manager has been told to manage me out of the business or make me quit. i hate the job and get panicky everytime i have to go to work. i would leave but flat comes with job and council are just begining to get fingers out now regarding me leaving my h. was told btw that emotional violence was not raelly dv and that safety net had been putting words into my mouth.

I love my job, love the work and I'm bloody good at what I do (big head emoticon), but, I might as well speak to the wall, they ignore everything I say and treat me like shit.

its getting worse! h rang me to tell me heating was not working as i am away at the moment. rang pub and asked them to call out someone to sort it out, the guy i spoke to said he would let the other manager know (bosses right hand man). i then speak to this guy and he says he will sort it out. 30 mins later i get call from first person saying that the other guy is not going to do it. i sak him why and to put this guy on the phone, he wont come to the phone, when he finally does he is rude and denies this. i am so so sick of this behaviour towards me and the sheer thought of going back there feels me with panic. i feel physically sick and breathless due to this, h being no help as usual and after speaking to the council again today they have to assess wether the dv i am suffering warrants me moving out. apparently being called useless fat and crap and if not being insulted being ignored is ok. it has taken me ages to pluck the courage up to leave and now it sounds like noone will help. i really am at my wits end. goona make an appontment with gp and get signed off i think.

Sorry to hear that you are going through this.

I totally empathise with what your going through with regards to the sickness, not wanting to go back & being lied to, things are terrible where I work and I have to go back into to it all tomorrow, i'm feeling sick and have a dodgy tummy at the thought of it. All because It's physically impossible for me to do what they want me to

Some of them where I work have whispered conversations while i'm in the room which i think is so ignorant.
