I teach English as a Foreign Language to business people, and I always get stuck finding the right word for this.

e.g. My computer crashed so I called the ........... to come and fix it.
IT guy / someone from IT / IT engineer / IT technician / computer person ????

What is his/her real job title? How do you refer to him/her in your company?

We call ours IT technicians.

Well, we call them all sorts of things when our PCs go down, but that's their official title...

I'm called "IT Support Technician" or more generally "IT RedFraggle"....

And I'll have no complaints about Tech support until no-one phones to say their pc is broken when it is simply unplugged....
