Right im in a tricky situation.
My current job is very unstable and is only guaranteed until jan, from then on it will be touch and go, we will find out end dec if we will be stable or not. Ive been looking for other jobs as i cant really afford to be out of work, but in a ideal world i would stay where i am.
Now, ive interviewed and been offered job a, a fine job, good hours and pay, but i know i will find it borning. My dream job has come up elsewhere and im interviewing for that next week. ( job b )Would it be really bad of me to accept job a , then if i get offered dream job accept that and decline job a? its just i dont know that ill def get job b and want to make sure i still have a job at the end of it all?????

somebody help!!!

if you know now you will find it boring then don't accept it, especially as other stuff is on the horizon

It would be bad to mislead your potential new employer but that's what you have to do in this situation I'm afraid.

Alernatively try and stall a little bit for time but I suppose you already tried that.

I have a potential employer doing this to me at the moment and it does not feel nice but this is life unfortunately.

Can you not say to job a that you want to wait a week until you say whether you want to accept it.

I don't think its uncommon to ask for a week or so to consider the offer?

im stalling for time at the momment, they have verbally offered me the job, but havent sent out the offer on paper yet. im thinking if they dont do it till tuesday or wed then that would be ok.... as the interviews for the other job are on the tuesday.
i dont want to mess them about but dont want to leave myself with no job.

and in any case i might not get the dream job then will need to fall back on this one.

its complicated some times isnt it!
