My role is being made redundant and I've been offered a fixed term role for a year. I've been in the business for 12 years.
I have caught wind that there are further changes about to come which would involve a role at my level (Role A) being taken over by a different permanent member of staff (also at my level - in Role B). Neither Role A or B are currently At Risk. There are vacancies at my level but they aren't of interest to me (wrong roles and geography) however I'm potentially interested in Role A. The person moving from Role A will go into one of the vacant roles at our level.
Am I entitled to be considered for Role A? It's a tough one as I prefer the content of my fixed term role but Role A is permanent and in the right place. The person coming from role B to A is definitely the favourite for the role but not at risk so I want to understand f I should have preference (let's assume we're similarly skilled and experienced)
Role A hasn't been advertised and is likely to be appointed. If I don't bring it up, chances are it'll happen after my consultation finishes.
Hope that isn't too complicated. Any help?
