Union recommendations

I work in a school in admin support and think I may need the help and advice of a union in the not too distant future.

Does anyone have any recommendations of unions that specifically cater for admin or school admin? Unison are very teacher/ta heavy but not much in the way of admin. I've had a google but it's a minefield so was hoping for some positive first hand ideas.

If you go on the TUC website, there''s a union-finder, which will tell you about possible unions for your job. (You might still get Unison, though.)

If you think you might need a union, join now - mine won't normally take on existing cases, and like people to have been a member for at least 3 months (or something, can't quite remember.)

Thanks ebearhug. I'm about to go on maternity leave and think a union might be useful when I return to work next year so just wanting to join in advance because I think 3 months is the standard Smile

The union finder is here - www.tuc.org.uk/join-union
