Work

Really annoyed with the unfairness at the company I work for (sales based)

I work in telesales for a small company. There are 6 of us doing telesales, then a handful of reps, and 2 managers.

Basically one telesales woman is favoured by the 2 managers as she is very friendly with them and, to be blunt, I think they want to get in her knickers, as she is very flirty with them, and they with her. For example if she goes into their office she will sit on the lap of one of them.

I really don't know why the rest of us still work there as this colleague a) gets a much higher rate of commission per sale than the rest of us, despite us all being equal to each other in terms of job level. b) She gets her fuel paid to travel into work each day. and c) She gets given all of the leads which are essentially easy, guaranteed sales as they are customers that have approached our company wanting to buy something, rather than us cold calling them initially. The rest of us have to work much much harder than her to get a sale, and she earns probably 5-10 times each week what the rest of us earn.

I am seriously pissed off about the situation but don't know what to do about it. It's a small company so we don't have grievance procedures, and it's run on a very informal basis really. I would imagine if I complained the managers would just tell me to sod off and work elsewhere. Everyone else is disgruntled too and it is the main topic of conversation whenever this colleague is not in the office.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Yep, and bakes cakes and biscuits for them on a regular basis, and sometimes brings in sandwiches for them. Very weird.

Wow. cheap whore

I'd be looking for another job. There's nothing you can do about it there despite the gross unfairness unless you turn up in your underwear and fishnet stockings and drape yourself over the directors

Boak!!

I suppose if she took it too far you could claim sex harassment because of her behaviour.....

How do you know she is on a better pay structure and about her fuel payments?

She told us and a colleague asked one of the managers if it was true and they said yes!

I've been chatting to DH tonight about it and he thinks that I should leave my job because of the unfairness. I really am leaning towards leaving I have to say.
