Not really an issue but it annoys me that...

My boss is a department head - our lowest performing and smallest department. Anyway he's a nice guy, bit of a geek. He keeps joking around with me in a way that he doesn't do with others - just always trying to create (awful) banter and jokes. It makes me feel slightly uncomfortable as I seem to be the only one he does it with. For the record, I'm on notice at the moment, but he's done this for around a year anyway. Sometimes I just cringe when he does it as a - it's so bad, b - I don't care enough anymore and c - I know the others always stare at us. I know this comes across as a non issue but it really does make me want to just roll my eyes at him sometimes!

Maybe he sees you as a friendlier sort and is trying to pass the time of day?

It can be incredibly lonely working in an office where noone speaks to you all day.
