Leaving private practice for Tsol/GLS?

Solicitor Mummies, I wonder if you can help?! I'm considering leaving private practice to join Tsol/GLS. The main reason is that I have two very young children and although I do 4 day weeks, pick-ups are down to me each day, which I am finding very stressful and tbh I feel like I am doing a crap job compared to everyone else in my team (I do transactional work). I have heard good things about GLS in terms of work/life balance and flexibility (albeit the money is not so good but I can live with that - I am not in London so the pay cut would not be so significant for me). I was wondering how any of you Mummies who have made a similar move have found it? Also, we have not ruled out the possibility of having another DC so I am weighing up the best time to move. Do any of you know what GLS' maternity policy is and what the qualifying periods are? I would only get statutory maternity in my current job but I would want to ensure that I would at least get this if I moved (and hopefully get more depending on timings). Any help or advice at all would be very much appreciated!
