Hi I work between two practices and at birthdays in one we all contribute usually a ?5.00 for whoever birthday it is. LASt year they forgot mine new well there 6 months when it was my birthday. IN fairness only there one day a week.

Well my birthday was last thursday not day i work there so. Was expecting card and usual gift vouchers what people usually get.

What did i get a bunch of flowers well if you could call them flowers 6 ornamental gabbages in them i could cope with one but 6 . Annoyed.

so i emailed the florist to say i was dissappointed told two of the girls who both agreed they would not be happy. I don't get flowers often and when i do i like them to be flowers.

my d/h says to not contribute anymore as i was just an after thought and when they come for the next birthday say no. What would you do?

they're quite nice flowers aren't they - those ornamental cabbages? i would be annoyed too though and only contribute £1 and say it's pro-rata.

Do you have to give a set amount? If not, could you not just give a token amount so you are seen as contributing but don't feel you have been taken advantage of. I organise a lot of collections at work and tbh it is very hit and miss in that sometimes people contribute a lot and others it is rubbish - seems to depend more on the day of the week/time of year rather than who I am collecting for. Happy Birthday from me and don't take it personally !
