Work issues with pay

I am currently on maternity leave, just used up all my annual leave before it rolls onto SMP, this months wage included all the annual leave which was fine but have some concerns.

I gave them my matb1 ages ago, manager confirmed it had been sent, we have had two managers since then now and have since found out a lady who left a few weeks before me they have not processed hers and she's gone without pay. This would be a disaster for me as partner was made redundant so i am the only owner at the moment. It's a HUGE well known company but the managers at my local store are useless. I spoke to a team leader this morning who said she didn't have a clue what was going on, the new manager is off on training and only a deputy is avaliable :S Work won't supply a payroll number and i've googled a payroll number but there's none for it online. I can find a head office address but it seems to be for customer complaints etc.

Is there ANYTHING i can do to get some answers?! I'd ideally like a written letter confirming start and end dates of SMP and confirmation it's all gone through but as my own managers are pretty useless I have no idea where i can go from here? Is there any legal routes they have to follow? It's so stressful!

Can you call HR? There may be a number on your payslip.

I definitely had a letter outlining exactly what I would get paid each week and the latest date I could return to work so I'm assuming it's standard practise.

I really hope you get it sorted and can relax and enjoy your maternity leave Smile

Can you call the head office number and ask to be put through to HR or payroll?

Hi all sorry about late reply!

I called work, yet again, it's a new manager who didn't have a clue what was going on (why am I NOT surprised) We don't have any numbers on our payslips but another colleague got Payroll number for me who confirmed they hadn't had the form confirming my maternity leave yet. Needless to say I wasn't happy! Apparentely they have to receive this form byy 24th of july or it won't be processed in time for august pay day.

I have wrote a letter to the only head office address i could find but put fao maternity payroll department on top of the address asking if they could send a letter confirming start and end dates etc. Work say they are sending the form off but I just have a horrible feeling they will mess up like they did for the other lady!

Hi all, I need some advice. I've been on mat leave and was due to go back in September but broke my ankle so have delayed my return untill next week. When I found that I was ready to sort out my dates for my initial return to work I started the process in June and was getting no where. It got to August and my hours and days had still not been agreed. I had to get the opps manager of my department involved as my manager had left. To date the details of my working hours and salary have still not been confirmed by HR and it has already impacted one months wage and is potentially going to impact another months wage. I feel that when I ring my department I am bugging them and being a pain but I am now staring to panic and it is really getting me down.
Any advice as to what to do to try resolve the matter and stop the worrying would be appreciated Smile

I would suggest you start your own thread with the important details in the title and that is likely to get you one good advice.
