Hi, just wondering if someone knowledgeable can advise me?

Just started a job paying an annual salary of £13,000 pro rata. I am doing two days per week 9.00 am to 5.30 pm. It would seem that they have worked out that the £13,000 per year would only be earned if you worked 365 days per year, i.e. £13,000 divided by 365 = £35 per 7.5 hour day. Is this right? £35 for a 7.5 hour day is below the minimum wage, or am I being somewhat dim here?

What odd said. You are not paid for days you aren't working. Salary should be based on 37.5 hour working week and pro rata taken from that.

£13K per annum is £250 pw

This is £50 per day for a five day week. For two days £52 x 100 - ie £5200

They are assuming a seven day week would be worked - which it surely would not.

I agree with odd slippers - I work pt and my pro rata salary is based on a standard working week (ie 37.5 hrs).

It depends what standard full time week is in that business. In mine the full time week is 40 hours so pro data is percentage of 40 hour week.
So £13,000 for 40 hour week, £7,500 for 20 hour week.

It would be a 37.5 hour week and no weekends.
